Taylor Sheridan‘s Landman introduced Cheyenne as a stripper turned physical therapist to Sam Elliott‘s character — but who is actress Francesca Xuereb?
Sheridan got his start as an actor before shifting focus to writing for the small screen, which paved the way for Yellowstone‘s success. The hit series, which aired from 2018 to 2024 expanded the universe with spinoffs such as 1883 and 1923, as well as the upcoming series The Dutton Ranch, The Madison and Marshals.
Sheridan has also worked on original shows Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness, Tulsa King and Landman. Inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast series, Landman is focused on the West Texas oil industry with a specific focus on crisis executive Tommy Norris and his family.
Landman introduced Billy Bob Thornton as the corporate fixer working for an oil titan (Jon Hamm) while building up to its promise of plot twists. The season finale killed off Hamm’s Monty while Tommy was named the president of M-Tex before getting kidnapped — and severely beaten — by a drug cartel leader. Tommy is eventually released with the promise that he will work with the cartel.
Season 2 raised the stakes by shaking up the narrative with Demi Moore‘s Cami added into the mix more. Elsewhere in the show, Ali Larter’s Angela, Jacob Lofland‘s Cooper, Michelle Randolph‘s Ainsley and more are at the center of their own drama.
Xuereb, meanwhile, appeared at the end of the second season as a stripped Tommy hired to help his dad, T.L. (Elliott), who was suffering from multiple health ailments. The duo bonded over aquatic therapy and emotional conversations with a hint of unexpected chemistry.

Paramount+’s Landman is the first time Xuereb worked with Sheridan. The prolific screenwriter has worked with several actors multiple times including James Jordan:, Barry Corbin, Graham Greene and more.

Xuereb had serving jobs while acting but she quit being a waitress in 2023. According to an interview with The New York Times, Xuereb had to return after the SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America strikes.
“It definitely felt like slowing down, and that doesn’t necessarily feel good,” she told the outlet. “I don’t mind working in the restaurant.”
