Tiger Woods won’t play in any of the majors this year as he endures the fallout of his DUI crash two months ago.
The 50-year-old didn’t enter the field for the 2026 British Open by last week’s deadline, Sports Illustrated reported Tuesday, and he is not eligible for an exemption at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock next month.
Woods missed all four majors last year due to injuries.
This marks the second time since he began playing majors in 1995 that he has missed all four tournaments in consecutive years; he also missed them in 2016 and ’17 due to back injuries.
The 15-time major champion had left the door open to playing in last month’s Masters as he participated in the finals of his TGL indoor league on March 24.
Three days later, Woods was arrested for DUI after a rollover crash near his home in Jupiter Island, Fla.
Police found two Hydrocodone pills in his left pocket. Hydrocodone is an opioid pain killer.
While Woods blew 0.00 on a breathalyzer test, he refused to submit a urine sample.
Woods then went to rehab in Switzerland to address his pain-killer issues.
He was spotted getting off his private jet in Florida two weeks ago, returning to his girlfriend Vanessa Trump, who revealed last week she has breast cancer.
People reported that the couple’s relationship is going strong, with one source telling the outlet that they’re “in love.”
Woods’ private plane was then tracked leaving Florida Saturday night and landing back in Switzerland on Sunday morning.
Woods’ U.S. Open win in 2008 marked his 14th career major victory and put him four behind Jack Nicklaus’ record. He didn’t win another major until his stunning 2019 Masters victory, and hasn’t won another since.
