Preston Harp, the estranged brother of President Donald Trump’s executive assistant Natalie Harp, is speaking out about his sister’s working relationship with the commander-in-chief.
Preston said that Natalie’s proximity to the president “really blows my mind” during an appearance on CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront on Tuesday, August 18.
Natalie, 35, has made headlines recently amid several reports about her role in Trump’s administration and after Sen. Jon Ossoff drew attention to her during a rally in Atlanta earlier this month.
Preston claimed that their mother raised him and Natalie to believe that “American exceptionalism was the correct way of looking at things, that the United States is the boss of the world.”
“I think my sister didn’t break out of that delusion that our mom raised us with,” he continued. “Trump is everything my mom taught us to respect, so I think that’s where her infatuation for Trump comes from, honestly. Because I don’t think it’s a physical attraction, let’s get real.”
“She’s his biggest fan, so that’s probably why he likes her,” he later said. “And she’s good-looking. She’s got a good personality.”
Preston also reacted to a CNN report Tuesday that alleged Natalie once traveled in the trunk of an SUV to accompany Trump to a court appearance in New York City. According to CNN, which cited two sources, the incident took place in October 2023.
“That’s crazy. It’s actually kind of sad. That’s obsession,” Preston said. “That’s an unhealthy obsession with someone if you’re going to jump into the trunk of their car.”
Asked if he had a message for his sister, Preston said, “I love you. I hope that you change and that you wake up and realize that everybody on this earth is part of a human family, and no country is better than any other country.”
Us has reached out to the White House for comment.
Ossoff’s remarks about Harp and Trump during a Sunday, August 16, rally previously sparked a strong reaction from the president’s administration.
“While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings,” Ossoff said, referring to the ongoing Iran war. “He golfs and trades stocks. See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.”
White House communications director Steven Cheung slammed Ossoff via X, writing, “Instead of denigrating hard-working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country.”
White House spokesperson David Ingle branded Ossoff a “cringeworthy, feminine theatre kid cosplaying as Barack Obama.” He added, “Nobody gives a s*** what this lightweight loser says.”
