As much as I wish summer would last forever, I’m so excited for fall. Part of the reason is all the clothing, and Walmart’s selection looks especially enticing. The retailer has quickly become a fashion mecca, and most of my wardrobe is made up of Walmart pieces (no joke!). Everything just looks luxe while staying wallet-friendly, and the cooler-weather options further prove the store is a can’t-miss when shopping for the months ahead.

Whether you’re in need of a full autumnal closet refresh or simply want to scoop up some fall-friendly must-haves to enhance last year’s rotation, you’re in the right place. Shop Walmart’s 17 best fall fashion items, according to a shopping writer.

17 Cool-Weather Fashion Pieces to Buy From Walmart’s Fall Preview

1. Patterned Perfect: Let your outerwear be the focal point of your fall wardrobe with this mesmerizing brocade floral bomber jacket.

2. Statement Skirt: Argyle is a pattern often reserved for sweater vests (how preppy!), but the motif really shines on this flowy maxi skirt. Pro tip: keep the rest of your outfit simple with solid colors.

3. Denim Dreams: Update your jean collection with an ultra-flattering high-rise pair. The patchwork pockets give the style a vintage vibe.

4. Blair Waldorf Vibes: This preppy pinstripe button-down — complete with a pretty neck bow — looks like it came from Bendel’s (RIP) instead of Walmart.

5. Combine the Trends: What do you get when you mix sling-back footwear with a penny loafer silhouette? These unique and elegant tassel loafers.

6. Seasonal Stripes: Breton striped shirts have an inherent nautical vibe to them — until you switch up the color. Snag this mustard yellow-and-black striped top for an autumnal take on the pattern.

7. Your New Fave Pants: Ever since I bought these stretchy and comfy tapered work trousers, I’ve worn them more than my go-to leggings — true story!

8. Vintage Vibes: For those in-between weather days when you don’t necessarily need a coat, this relaxed denim overshirt will come in handy.

9. A Fall Weave: If you think woven shoes should be reserved for summer, these flats will change your mind. They come in dark, moody colors, including burgundy, navy and olive, all of which scream ‘fall.’

10. Get in the Spirit: Back-to-school season and pleated skirts seem to go hand in hand. This knitted design feels like an elevated version of a high school cheerleading uniform.

11. Modern Trench: Long raincoats have their time and place. However, this cropped trench option offers a fresh spin on the timeless silhouette. The plaid lining also makes this style perfect for fall.

12. Get Wild: Animal prints have proven their lasting power. These leopard-print barrel jeans are a testament to that, instantly adding interest to your seasonal rotation.

13. One and Done: Jumpsuits remain a convenient closet must-have for days when you’re running late. This cargo style features extra pockets and a cinched waist to complement your curves.

14. Cozy Up: Chilly Friday nights call for this extra-long cable knit sweater — it even has a built-in hood!

15. Extra Comfort: What if your favorite suede booties had their own sweater? The cable knit overlay on these boots adds texture and personality to the iconic footwear.

16. A Certified Classic: I always add at least one new sweater dress to my fall wardrobe. This year’s pick is an oversized cable-knit pullover you can wear loose or cinch with a belt.

17. Dots Forever: Polka dots — a.k.a. the pattern of the year — are still going strong into the fall months, as this waterproof bomber jacket confirms.
