Bringing Up Bates’ Travis Clark made headlines long before admitting that he had been unfaithful to wife Katie Bates.
Katie, one of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’ 19 children, began courting Clark in 2020 after meeting through mutual friends one year prior.
“Travis and his family are active in their local church and also travel together to sing, so our families have been able to visit at nearby concerts and church events,” Katie exclusively told Us Weekly in March 2020. “Travis and I are so thankful that the Lord, not only allowed our paths to cross, but that we have been able to begin this new phase of our journey together.”
Katie and Clark tied the knot in 2021. Five years later, Clark shared via Instagram that he had been unfaithful to Katie just hours after she opened up about her recent pregnancy loss. She has yet to publicly address Clark’s cheating scandal. Us Weekly reached out to Katie for comment at the time.

Travis Clark Is a Dad
The pair welcomed daughter Hailey and son Harvey in 2023 and 2024, respectively. Katie Bates shared in January 2026 that she had suffered a pregnancy loss. “I will spend the rest of my life missing you,” she wrote via Instagram.
Travis Clark Admitted to Cheating on Katie Bates
Hours after Katie Bates shared that she had suffered a miscarriage, Travis Clark admitted that he had cheated on his wife.
“This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife,” Clark wrote via his Instagram Story in January 2026. “I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.”
“I’m sorry for the pain, humiliation and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices,” Clark continued. “I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for.”
Clark shared that he planned to take responsibility for his actions by “getting help.”
“[I am] doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of [the] outcome,” Clark concluded. “I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.”

The couple shared in 2025 that they purchased a home in Tennessee.

Travis Clark began nursing school in 2025, receiving support from his wife amid his career change.
“Sharing a big life update 🩺❤️,” Katie Bates wrote via Instagram in 2025. “We’ve had a lot going on behind the scenes, and we’re finally ready to share that Travis is in nursing school, and I couldn’t be more proud of him! 👏🏼.”
She continued, “Since this all started last year, I’ve watched him work so hard, stay focused, keep writing and recording music, and pour himself into this new path all while still showing up for me and the kids in the most meaningful ways. 🥹 This decision came with a lot of thought and prayer, and we’re confident it’s the right step for our family and we’re so excited for what’s ahead. ☺️ Thank you for being part of our journey.
