Trump’s State Dept. will include president’s face in new passports for America250

News RoomBy News RoomApril 29, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

President Trump will be featured prominently on new US passports designed by the State Department to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

Renderings, obtained by The Post, show an engraved-style portrait of Trump set against the Declaration of Independence and a flowing American flag on the inside passport cover.

The president’s distinctive signature – in gold – is directly under his portrait along with the words, “United States of America.”

Artist John Trumbull’s iconic painting of the founding fathers signing the Declaration of Independence is featured on a separate page, superimposed over the American flag.

The back cover will feature a navy-and-gold version of the first official American flag adopted by Congress in 1777, but with the number “250” centered between the 13 stars.

“As the United States celebrates America’s 250th anniversary in July, the State Department is preparing to release a limited number of specially designed US Passports to commemorate this historic occasion,” State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said in a statement.

The passports, which are optional, will have a limited run of 250,000 and only be available in the Washington Passport Agency office.

The new designs will not compromise the document’s various security features.

“These passports will feature customized artwork and enhanced imagery while maintaining the same security features that make the US Passport the most secure documents in the world,” Pigott noted.

The commemorative passport is one of several “America250” initiatives the Trump administration is undertaking to celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial.

A Grand Prix race on the National Mall is planned for August under the banner, as well as a UFC fight on the White House South Lawn set to take place in June.

The official also said that the new passport designs, which are optional, will be available for any American citizen who applies for a passport when the rollout happens and will continue for as long as there is availability.
