TikToker Matt Howard and his pregnant wife, Abby Howard, found out the sex of their baby with the help of their younger sons.
“I’m excited,” Abby shared in a Sunday, April 19, YouTube video, which was filmed in January. “This is the earliest we’ve ever found out. But now I’m of the mindset that I want to know the most about this baby that I possibly can while I can.”
When asked what she thought the sex of their baby might be, Abby replied, “I think girl.”
“I feel like I didn’t have any preference with the third. But now that we know what we lost, it definitely opened that desire in my heart to have a little girl one day,” Abby said. “We are going to love this baby no matter what.”
In another clip, Matt explained that Abby’s mom would give their sons a bouquet of blue or pink flowers — corresponding with the sex of their baby. The pair’s sons then walked over to the couple, who had their eyes shut, while holding blue flowers. (Matt and Abby welcomed sons Griffin and August in 2022 and 2023, respectively.)
As Matt opened his eyes, he exclaimed, “It’s a boy!” Abby leaned her head back and laughed before clapping.
“We got three boys in the family,” Matt said to their sons. “Three boys, how crazy is that.”
The pair then celebrated with a larger group, where they were seen popping blue confetti as their loved ones cheered.
“We feel so blessed! Thank you to everyone that came out to the party to support!” the video was captioned.
Matt and Abby shared in March that they are expecting another baby. “Baby #4 🌈,” the pair captioned their Instagram post. “Grateful beyond measure.”
In August 2025, Matt and Abby announced that they were expecting their third baby. One month later, the couple shared that she suffered a pregnancy loss.
“It is with very heavy hearts that we share about the loss of our baby girl born far too soon,” the pair wrote via Instagram in September 2025. “At a routine pregnancy appointment, our doctor could not find a heartbeat. Shortly after they sent us in for an ultrasound where the technician said words we will never forget, ‘I am so sorry I do not have good news.’”
The statement continued, “That is when we got the gender reveal we never hoped for and also the news that our baby had a genetic condition that took her life around 17 weeks gestation.”
Matt and Abby wrote that the news “felt unimaginable” and the grief has been “absolutely devastating.”
“But we feel so much gratitude for the time that we did get to have with her. And we still have hope. Hope has continued to show up for us in so many ways,” the couple concluded. “For now we will grieve and continue to think of ways to honor her life offline. Thoughts and prayers are more than welcome. Thank you everyone for celebrating this precious life with us for the past 17 weeks.❤️.”
