Spencer Pratt praised for ‘brilliant’ new ad attacking mayoral rivals

News RoomBy News RoomApril 29, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt is turning heads with a “brilliant” campaign ad furiously calling out his rivals’ posh homes — after his own residence burned to the ground in the catastrophic Pacific Palisades fire last year.

“This is where Mayor Bass lives. You notice something?” Pratt says in the 30-second ad titled “They Not Like Us,” gesturing towards the Getty House, Bass’ bucolic Tudor-style residence in Windsor Square, which is mayor’s official residence.

“Or here, where Nithya Raman’s $3 million mansion sits,” Pratt adds, referring to the socialist candidate’s luxury home in Silver Lake.

The former reality TV star has quietly racked up support for his long-shot bid for mayor, even netting a $1,800 maximum donation from Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss.

Pratt accused his challengers of living far away from the messes they created — flashing images of homeless encampments, wildfires and graffiti that have plagued swaths of Los Angeles.

The home “The Hills” alum owned with his wife, Heidi Montag, burned down in the January 2025 Palisades fires.

He relocated to an Airstream trailer on his burned-out vacant lot, which he shows off on the video.

“They let my home burn down. I know the consequences of failed leadership,” Pratt added, promising to usher in a new “Golden Age” in LA.

The hard-hitting ad stunned political pundits like Meghan McCain, who predicted that Pratt would claim victory in the election.

“I’m telling you this guy is going to win,” she wrote on X.

Democratic operative Keith Edwards said Pratt’s rivals would be unwise to dismiss his campaign.

“Good ad. Democrats should take this seriously,” he wrote on X.

Political consultant Ryan James Girdusky labeled the ad “brilliant” on X.

Polling shows a volatile race for mayor as unpopular incumbent Karen Bass fights off challenges from Raman, a member of the City Council, and Pratt, a longtime critic of Los Angeles leadership.

An April survey showed Bass leading with 25% of likely voters and Pratt at 11%, though 40% of respondents were undecided.
