Raiders’ Ashton Jeanty calls Klint Kubiak’s new offense ‘different in a good way’

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 9, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

The 2025 season was an utter disappointment for the Las Vegas Raiders, and rookie running back Ashton Jeanty might’ve been one of the biggest disappointments for a team that finished 3-14.

With a new season on the horizon, a new coaching staff and an entirely revamped offense in Las Vegas, Jeanty is poised for a comeback season.

During the NFL Network’s filming of their show “Inside Training Camp” at Raiders training camp, Jeanty appeared as a guest and was interviewed by NFL insider Ian Rapoport and Mike Robinson, telling them about how he thinks the running game will be more explosive this season.

“Obviously we’ve got some more guys added to that O-line,” Jeanty said. “Kolton [Miller] is healthy, J.P.J. [Jackson Power-Johnson] is healthy.”

One of the biggest holes with the Raiders last season was at the offensive line position, as the team finished at the bottom in rushing with 1,317 yards, while being the most sacked team by giving up 64 sacks last season.

The Raiders addressed the holes on the offensive line over the offseason as they went ahead and signed Tyler Linderbaum to a record-setting, three-year $81 million contract, with $60 million guaranteed, and also signed guard Spencer Burford to a one-year $3.25 million deal.

Linderbaum has spent the first four years of his career with the Baltimore Ravens and has been one of the top centers in football, earning back-to-back-to-back Pro Bowl honors over the last three seasons.

“[Tyler Linderbaum] comes out, he’s consistent every day, it’s real easy to run behind him,” Jeanty said. “He’s the apex to the push.”

In 2024, the Raiders selected Jeanty 6th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, a year after he finished as a runner-up for the Heisman Trophy, behind Travis Hunter.

Jeanty had a season for the ages during his junior year at Boise State when he rushed for 2,601 yards, with 29 rushing touchdowns.

Last year, Jeanty’s production rapidly declined from what he was used to (partially due to his usage being mismanaged), when he rushed for 975 yards while scoring five touchdowns.

“At certain moments [last season was frustrating], just cause coming off my junior year having so much success, and then a total flip-flop,” Jeanty said. “I also think, for myself, I just feel like I could’ve played at a better level, too — regardless of what was happening.”

With head coach Klint Kubiak calling the shots in Las Vegas, Jeanty could see a volume increase of carries, as Kubiak was the offensive coordinator of the Super Bowl-winning Seattle Seahawks, who finished last season running the ball for 2,096 yards.

Jeanty has called Kubiak’s new offense “different in a good way.”

“The level of detail, to each and every single run, the motions, all types of things we’re doing, just to execute in the run game,” Jeanty said. “I love what I’m seeing so far.”
