Move over, oversized sweaters — peplum tops are here to claim the title of most flattering fall staple. The fitted-through-the-waist, floaty-through-the-belly shape gives you definition without requiring you to suck anything in. That sounds especially appealing during a season filled with pumpkin bread, cozy pasta dinners and apple cider doughnuts.
Luckily, the latest peplum tops look nothing like the ones hiding in the back of your closet from 2012. Think cozy sweater versions, boutique-style gingham print and polished button-downs that work everywhere from the office to date night. Our 13 favorites start at just $10, so embracing the comeback doesn’t require a whole new wardrobe.

6. Budget Buy: Your fall wardrobe refresh doesn’t have to cost much. This flowy 3/4-sleeve blouse gives jeans an instant upgrade while leaving plenty of room through the middle.
7. Pretty in Pointelle: This might be the prettiest knit in the entire lineup! The pointelle peplum design mixes delicate texture with a feminine flared hem and even includes a dainty tie detail.
8. Country Charm: The brown checkered top had Us at puff sleeves. Add the dainty collar and waist-defining shape, and we’re officially sold.
