Nike unveils futuristic recovery slides that heat and massage tired feet

News RoomBy News RoomJuly 27, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

It’s a portable treat for your feet.

After launching the award-winning Hyperboot last year, Nike has partnered with recovery tool brand Hyperice on another pair of high-tech footwear.

You’ll have to wait until fall, though, to get your hands on the sportswear giant’s latest footwear innovation.

In a press release published Monday, Nike announced the Air Zoom Hyperslide, the second product in the brand’s growing line of wearable recovery technology.

Building on the technology that powers the Hyperboot compression boot, the $249 slide is designed for anyone looking to enhance recovery — from athletes training for Hyrox to professionals who spend on day on their feet all day and everyone in between.

While the Hyperboot is designed to be worn before a workout as a warm-up, the futuristic-looking slide combines heat and vibration to help reduce tension and promote relaxation after training.

The bottom of the shoe is built with the brand’s patented Air Zoom cushioning, designed to maximize comfort and recovery.

But the real star of the shoe is its vibration technology, delivered through a removable magnetic Hyperslide Pod housed inside the slide’s adjustable strap.

The pod delivers three levels of heat, reaching a maximum of 117 degrees, along with three vibration levels settings that run in 15-minute intervals.

Both the heat and vibrations can be customized using controls on the pod or through the accompanying Hyperice app.

So while the Hyperboot delivers heat and dynamic air compression to the entire foot and ankle, the newest product targets the top of the foot with heat and vibration.

When designing the shoe, the brand took feedback from both elite and everyday athlete feedback into consideration, specifically their desire for the triple threat of cushioning, heat and vibration technology.

“Athletes leave everything on the field, and the approach to recovery needs to meet them at the same level,” Tobie Hatfield, senior director of Athlete Innovation at Nike, said in the press release.

“We wanted to create a solution that kickstarts recovery the moment you power it up — helping athletes feel more relaxed, restored and ready to take their performance to the next level.”

The demand for tools that reduce muscle soreness and inflammaging continues to grow as athletes increasingly prioritize recovery as an essential part of their training.

The launch also continues the brand’s push to “create epic s–t” that’s good for both the mind and body, particularly futuristic footwear.

Other innovations developed with insights from the Nike Sports Research Lab include neuroscience-based footwear and Project Amplify, a robotic leg brace that’s been likened to an e-bike.

The Hyperslide will be available Sept. 29 in select markets at Nike.com, Hyperice.com and select retail locations worldwide.
