Humanoid robot chases pack of wild boars in bizarre video: ‘The hero we don’t deserve’

News RoomBy News RoomApril 15, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

Swine and dash.

Humanity may have found an unlikely solution to the scourge of wild pigs invading European cities — boar-herding bots.

Bizarre footage shows the moment an AI-powered robot chased away a herd of wild pigs in Warsaw, Poland.

“I’m herding the wild boars into the forest,” reads the caption to the hilarious — albeit slightly dystopian clip — which has amassed 3.8 million views on X.

The clip shows one of Chinese firm Unitree’s now ubiquitous G1 humanoid bots — curiously named Edward Warchocki — jogging across an empty parking lot while pursuing the hairy hogs.

Unfortunately, the fleet-footed porkers evade their bipedal pursuer, prompting the cybernetic swineherd to raise its fist in frustration — like a scene out of the 2024 animated sci-fi flick “The Wild Robot.”

On the surface, it seems that Warchocki has a long way to go before it can successfully combat the city’s pig plague, which has become so rampant that city officials even started shooting the swine in residential areas.

However, as it turns out, this robotronic running of the boars was a promotional stunt.

Warchocki is a popular robot influencer that has captivated the country with its various anthropomorphic feats, which have included singing on stage, chasing marathon runners and even visiting the Polish Parliament, Futurism reported.

Nonetheless, X users were amused by the automaton’s hog-wrangling showcase with one dubbing Warchocki “the hero we don’t deserve.”

“Finally, some sensible application of robotics ;P,” said another.

Coincidentally, the US has its own version of Poland’s robotic troll — a cowboy hat-wearing Unitree G1 humanoid “Jake the Rizzbot.”

This eyeball-seeking machine has gone viral for its own wackadoodle stunts, which have included everything from spitting Gen Z slang and even “coming out as gay” after moving to California.

Like many Gen Z trolls nowadays, Jake allegedly provoked some rage against the machine — it was notably assaulted by streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr., aka IShowSpeed for allegedly “talking s–t.”

This prompted the robot’s developer to sue Watkins Jr. for a staggering $1 million in December.

Unfortunately, concerns over Unitree robots go beyond its capacity for trolling the public.

The humanoid machine has been involved in some high-profile malfunctions.

In the past couple of months alone, a handler in China was kicked in the groin by an advanced Unitree robot he was controlling, and a droid shockingly slapped a child during a dance demo gone awry.

Techsperts claim these could foreshadow more serious incidents down the line as the tech becomes more omnipresent in every sector of society, from medicine to in-home assistance.
