Who says fall fashion has to revolve around neutral colors and predictable patterns? While chocolate brown has become a wardrobe staple, pairing it with an unexpected pop of pink can brighten up the whole look. Gigi Hadid just proved that the surprising color combination deserves a spot in our fall wardrobes, stepping out in a colorful plaid skirt that makes the case for mixing playful shades with sophisticated autumn staples.
The supermodel was spotted in New York City on October 29, wearing a $495 Guest in Residence plaid midi skirt featuring a mix of pink, brown, orange and gray, complete with a fringed slit hem. She paired it with a brown T-shirt, a matching leather bomber jacket and knee-high leather boots. While her designer skirt comes with a hefty price tag, we found a chic $33 lookalike on Amazon that captures the same unexpected color combination for much less.

The Exlura Flannel Plaid Maxi Skirt has all the makings of an expensive-looking fall wardrobe staple. Its warm plaid pattern, sweeping A-line silhouette and flowy pleated hem create an elegant, feminine look that feels much more sophisticated than traditional plaid skirts. The orange-and-pink colorway offers a playful take on Hadid’s designer version, while additional shades of green, red and other classic tartans make it easy to find a pattern that suits your personal style.
Made from a cozy cotton-blend flannel fabric, the skirt is designed to keep you comfortable as temperatures drop without sacrificing style. Its high-waisted silhouette creates a flattering, waist-defining effect, while the flared hem adds beautiful movement with every step. Available in sizes XS to XXL, it also features functional side pockets that shoppers appreciate. One reviewer called it “a cute winter outfit” that “looks great with a sweater,” adding that the pockets were their “favorite” detail.
Another standout feature is the elastic waistband, which offers a flexible fit while maintaining the appearance of a more structured skirt. One shopper praised its “nice, comfortable stretch,” noting that the elastic isn’t “noticeable from the front.” Between its comfortable construction and polished design, it’s the kind of piece you can wear from a casual coffee date to a festive holiday gathering without feeling overdressed.
Hadid’s colorful plaid skirt is proof that sometimes the most unexpected combinations make the biggest style statements. Recreate her look with a chocolate-brown leather jacket and tall boots, or give it a cozy twist with a chunky cream sweater. For just $33 on Amazon, this rich-looking skirt makes embracing one of fall’s prettiest color combinations surprisingly affordable.
