The sector generated $80.4 billion in economic impact, supported 507,833 jobs—representing 8.3% of total employment—and delivered $5.4 billion in state and local taxes, equating to average household savings of $1,545.
Food and beverage spending led at $14.2 billion, followed by lodging at $13.45 billion and recreation at $6 billion. With Atlantic and Cape May counties continuing to attract high volumes of visitors, forecasts for 2025 predict 126.4 million visitors and $52.3 billion in expenditure.
