WASHINGTON — Hudson Valley Democrat Cait Conley was ripped over transgenderism in the National Republican Congressional Committee’s opening attack ad against the New York congressional candidate.

The brutal ad laced into Conley’s public opposition to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which included a provision to block Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) funding for sex changes.

It also highlighted support she has received from the Equality PAC, which condemned the passage of a bill with similar provisions banning taxpayer funding for puberty blockers and so-called “gender-affirming” hormone treatment on people under 18.

“Cait Conley took thousands from extreme groups pushing transgender sex changes for kids. The consequences — irreversible,” a narrator chided in the NRCC ad. “The cost — outrageous. It’s dangerous. It’s wrong. And it’s Cait Conley’s agenda.”

The NRCC even accused Conley of supporting taxpayer funding for sex changes in minors. The Post contacted Conley’s campaign for clarification about whether that’s her position.

She received at least $10,000 from the Equality PAC, according to campaign finance disclosures.

The biting spot noted that one of the drugs given to children undergoing hormonal treatment to be transgender has also been used for chemical castration on sex offenders.

Conley, a decorated special ops combat veteran, is running neck and neck against Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) in the Empire State’s 17th District — one of the most competitive House races in the country.

Lawler has pummeled Conley over her opposition to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act due to a provision he aggressively lobbied to get in that raised the federal cap on state and local tax (SALT) deductions from $10,000 to $40,000.

Given the high taxes on New Yorkers, SALT has proven to be a salient issue in the Hudson Valley.

Thanks to a key Supreme Court decision in June, the NRCC and other official party campaign groups are now freed up to coordinate with candidates in tough races. The NRCC has over $92 million cash on hand to help boost congressional candidates in tough races, according to the Federal Election Commission.

Many Republicans in competitive races across the country have highlighted their Democratic foes’ positions on transgenderism.

Some of the effects of hormonal therapy and puberty blockers on children are not reversible, according to the Mayo Clinic.
