Devan Kaney is Windy City bound.
Months after she was blindsided by losing her job as WIP’s Eagles sideline reporter, Kaney, who was also a Fox 29 anchor in Philadelphia, announced Tuesday on X that she’ll be a Bears reporter for Fox 32 news in Chicago.
Kaney’s announcement comes just two weeks after she mentioned people could “prob still catch me on Fox airwaves.”
Kaney worked with WIP since 2022 and was a co-host on the station’s morning talk show.
She moved to her sideline role in 2024, where she replaced Howard Eskin.
However, Kaney was part of a round of layoffs by parent company Audacy in April.
“I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,” Kaney told the Philadelphia Inquirer earlier this year. “But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.”
In moving to Chicago, Kaney is also bidding farewell to Fox 29, where the Pennsylvania native worked since 2023.
“Last week was my final sportscast at [Fox 29 Philadelphia],” Kaney wrote on X after leaving the station. “I’m so excited to share what’s next for me, but first I have to shoutout my incredible friends, family, and colleagues who have been so supportive over the last few months as I navigated my next career move.”
“Change is never easy, but I’m grateful for the people in my life who make sure I know that I am never alone.”
While Kaney is leaving the station, she said she’ll still continue to host her Phillies podcast “Werth Talking About.”
Kaney will begin covering the Bears a year after they went 11-6 and made the Divisional Round in a resurgence.
Caleb Williams took a significant leap in Year 2, while head coach Ben Johnson instilled a winning culture immediately.
The Bears start their 2026 season on Sept. 13 at the Panthers.
