Former Jon & Kate Plus 8 child star Collin Gosselin is showing off a brand-new look before the release of his tell-all memoir.
Gosselin, 22, recently stepped out at New York City’s Farzi restaurant, sporting a shagging hairstyle that coordinated a black sweater and gray trousers. He completed his look with a pair of oversized sunglasses and two beaded bracelets.
On one arm, Gosselin appeared to have a sleeve full of tattoos.
Collin, one of the eight children of exes Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin, arrived in the Big Apple to celebrate his memoir launch.
“I am so thankful for all the love and overwhelming support from everyone ❤️,” Collin wrote via Instagram on Wednesday, June 24. “I am so grateful to celebrate this book surrounded by friends at my favorite Indian restaurant in NYC. Thank you, Farzi, for an incredible evening. And a special thank you to Chef Gaurav, who has elevated my taste for Indian food immensely. He absolutely knocked it out of the park!”
He continued, “Here’s to 𝘐𝘯 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 🥂 P.S. to all the overlooked kids; become rockstars.”
Us Weekly exclusively revealed the cover for Collin’s debut memoir, In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood, earlier this month. In the book, Collin is set to reflect on his childhood, life on reality TV and eventual estrangement from mom Kate, 51.
“My life was always broadcast to millions, but what was actually happening in my life was never shown — in fact, much of it was deliberately kept hidden,” he told Us. “For years, other people told my story through headlines, television episodes and public speculation. Now, finally, I’m sharing what was really happening behind the scenes.”
Collin added at the time, “This book is about truth, survival, resilience and finding my voice after years of being silenced. If my story helps even one person feel less alone or gives them the courage to tell their own, then every difficult page was worth writing.”
Jon, 49, and Kate were married from 1999 to 2009, during which period they welcomed twins Mady and Cara, both 25, and sextuplets Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Leah, Joel and Aaden, all 22. After their tumultuous divorce, Collin and Hannah lived with Jon while their other siblings remained under Kate’s roof.
“I don’t talk to my siblings, and I very much wish that we did and that they knew who I actually was because we don’t know each other at all,” Collin later claimed in an August 2025 social media video. “I look at it more like moving forward and just kind of sharing content, and also for like TikTok at least, unfortunately, I don’t talk to my siblings, and I very much wish that we did and that they knew who I actually was because we don’t know each other at all.”
