CNN’s Van Jones boasts he’s ‘happy and Donald Trump is miserable’ during midterm election coverage

News RoomBy News RoomNovember 4, 20260 ViewsNo Comments

Lefty CNN commentator Van Jones flaunted his glee over President Trump’s assumed misery following Democrats’ dramatic sweep of Congress during live election coverage Tuesday night.

“Can I be happy for my party?” Jones said during the network’s live rolling results coverage panel.

“I don’t want to talk about Donald Trump anymore,” he said.

Republican Scott Jennings was seated next to Jones and appeared to grow visibly irked as the lefty commentator continued his over-the-top victory lap.

Panelist Kasie Hunt interrupted by saying, “But they’re going to talk about Donald Trump,” before Jones went back to his bragging parade.

“I’m happy, you’re not going to steal my joy, I’m happy,” he boasted.

“Because the first gay man in the Senate, Chris Pappas of New Hampshire. We got a black female senator for the first time out of Illinois, Juliana Stratton. We got three black governors serving at the same time in America,” Jones said.

“We’re gonna have a black speaker of the House,” he added. “I’m happy Donald Trump is miserable and I’m happy tonight.”

Earlier in the night, Jennings squirmed as Jones broke out into sing-song speech, expressing his happiness over the Democratic wins.

CNN host Anderson Cooper asked Jones if the results were “bigger than you hoped for?” to which the Dem commentator gushed, “I’m happy, happy, happy! I’m so happy! Listen, this is way bigger.”

“This is like Christmas, and a birthday and the Easter Bunny, and Halloween. This is the repudiation of Trump-ism that people have been hoping for, seeing American democracy stand up,” he said.

At that point, a fed-up Jennings rolled his eyes at Jones.

“Sometimes you have kleptocratic rulers that get in power and they ensconce themselves for decades. In America, 24 months later, knock it off, you don’t want it,” Jones slamed.

While the results were still rolling in after midnight, the Democrats won control of the Senate and are projected to win in the House.
