It’s no secret that Brandon Aiyuk is trying to end his time with the 49ers and wants to join the Commanders.
He has made that clear plenty of times throughout this NFL offseason, typically through social media tirades. And he did this once again with a series of posts to his Instagram Story on July 2.
Initially, Aiyuk made a post to his Instagram Story in which he was dancing in a driveway while wearing a maroon outfit. The story was captioned, “Mood cuz I’m gone be a Commander soon.”
Several hours later, Aiyuk posted another Insta Story that was captioned, “I haven’t received a single cent from them in 17 months / Folks tryna hold me captive lol / Then my guarantees was voided in July of 2025 / This s– modern day ⛓️.”
After that, he posted a rant video in which he said, “And they saying all this cause I missed rehab. No! I didn’t miss rehab, I just didn’t rehab with y’all. Man, get me off this bum-ass team, man!”
Aiyuk followed this up with another post in which he claimed the 49ers have nothing to say anymore, and that they’re “hiding and ducking. Where’s you at? bring your ass here! Say something!”

Aiyuk continued with several social media posts after that, continuing to belabor the point that he’s frustrated about how San Francisco has handled his situation and that he wants to no longer be a member of the NFL franchise.
One would imagine that the 49ers are doing all they can to sever ties with Aiyuk behind the scenes. But these constant tirades probably don’t make him all that appealing to the Commanders or to any other NFL franchise.
