If we could describe Zooey Deschanel‘s style, it would be cute, romantic and whimsical. She’s all about that feminine yet vintage energy that we just love, which is why we look to her for fashion inspo when the weather allows for more playful outfits. Spoiler: we recently spotted the actress having a wholesome day playing on a swing, and while her entire look was adorable, her pastel blue sneaker style made Us pause and reconsider our go-to white kicks. You, too? Then you’ll love that we found a similar version on Amazon for under $35.

The Merv actress posted a few pictures on social media hanging outside while wearing a lacey white blouse, classic blue jeans, ruffle socks and light blue sneakers. Her shoes have a way of balancing style and quirkiness with effortless ease, making them perfect for running errands or chilling in the backyard. While we don’t know the exact brand of Deschanel’s kicks, this cute summer-ready option gives off the same vibe.

Get the Lucky Step Retro Sneakers for $33 (was $35) at Amazon! Please note, prices are accurate as of the publishing date but are subject to change.

The Lucky Step Retro Sneakers lean on the same color palette as Deschanel’s shoes, with a pastel color palette, a rounded toe, laces and a gummy bottom. The biggest difference? This Amazon version has an ‘It’ girl aesthetic that feels sporty chic. They’re the kind of sneakers that toe the line between cutesy and athletic, which feels very on trend for the season.

Designed with a few cool-toned colors, like periwinkle, eggshell blue and buttery yellow, these sneakers feel even more versatile than the A-lister’s pair. The accents and stripes are reminiscent of expensive-looking dad shoes we’ve seen all over New York, and the brown bottoms, PU leather panels and semi-platform outsole add to the ’70s retro look.

The cool-girl sneakers aren’t just here for looks; they’re also extremely comfortable to wear, thanks to the cushioned, supportive insole. And because they have a lightweight build, you won’t experience fatigue at the end of the day. One note: shoppers advise sizing up, since the sneakers can feel a little snug, especially if you’re in between sizes.

Speaking of shoppers, the sneakers are loved by them, earning tons of five-star ratings. “Super comfortable! Wore [the sneakers] on a two-week overseas walking trip, and they lasted amazing,” wrote one reviewer.

Meanwhile, professionals like to sport this style, too. “These sneakers are a dream for those long days on your feet. As a teacher, I’m constantly in motion, but these sneakers provide arch support and cushioned soles,” one wrote. “They strike a balance between trendy and professional. I believe I’m up to 16 pairs, and I just placed an order for three more.”

Clearly, the Lucky Steps sneakers are ideal for all kinds of events, activities and styles. Wear them with a plain white sundress and a cardigan for family gatherings, or channel Deschanel and wear the style with a lacey top and jeans. No matter how you wear them, you’re sure to look fab.
