Zero-fee May Term launched by St. Thomas University Global to support flexible study pathways

News RoomBy News RoomApril 17, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

St. Thomas University Global, the online undergraduate division of St. Thomas University, is introducing a fully funded May Term for 2026, enabling eligible students to start or continue their degree studies without financial barriers.

Commencing on 2 May 2026, the initiative will cover all expenses for one course, including tuition, associated fees, books, and essential materials. There are no additional charges or financial obligations attached to the term.

As many adults in the workforce remain part-qualified, universities are increasingly offering accessible and low-risk opportunities to help individuals return to education and complete their qualifications.

“For many students, the biggest barrier is not ability or motivation, it is the uncertainty around cost,” said Clyde Lewis, Ed.D., Associate Vice President for Financial Aid and Student Services. “This gives students a clear, immediate way to begin without delay and without having to navigate a complex financial decision first.”

The programme is open to new students, those returning to study, and individuals looking to re-engage with higher education, provided they meet standard undergraduate entry requirements. Owing to the short duration of the term, it is not eligible for federal financial aid, although students can complete it without paying anything themselves.

“Higher education often asks students to make a financial commitment before they fully understand the experience,” said Diego Britto, Senior Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer. “This approach reverses that dynamic by allowing students to begin with no financial exposure.”

Courses are delivered entirely online using an asynchronous model, making them suitable for working adults and non-traditional learners. Ongoing support is provided by dedicated success coaches from initial enrolment through to degree completion.

Available programmes at STU Global include undergraduate degrees in Business Management, Finance, Marketing Management, Sports Administration, Organisational Leadership, and Catholic Education, each aligned with modern workforce demands and grounded in principles of ethics, leadership, and service.
