WeWoreWhat founder Danielle Bernstein and fiancé Cooper Weisman have called it quits seven months after getting engaged.
“I’ve been quiet about my personal life and wasn’t ready to speak on it until now,” Bernstein, 33, wrote via an Instagram Story on Friday, January 30. “We’re stepping away from our relationship with love and respect.”
The fashion influencer explained, “There’s no big dramatic reason — sometimes it’s simply not the right forever.”
Bernstein confessed, “I’m not sure what the future holds, but this choice took courage.” She concluded by asking her followers for “privacy and grace” for both her and Weisman as they navigate their breakup.
Bernstein’s split announcement comes as a surprise to many of her fans, who have been following her and Weisman’s love story from its start.
The couple began dating in October 2023 after Bernstein announced her breakup from longtime boyfriend Anthony Adler that April. (Bernstein and Adler dated four years before their split.)
Bernstein revealed in June 2025 that Weisman proposed on the roof of their new home in New York.
“I’ve dreamed of this moment my entire life and it was everything and more in the most perfectly imperfect way!!!!” the influencer-turned-designer wrote via Instagram at the time. “The man of my dreams got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!!! Fully blacked out and was just repeating ‘is this really happening’ the entire time!!”
Bernstein gushed, “My heart is bursting and I still can’t believe it all, from the timing to the ring I’m just in shock and on cloud nine! He did good guys woah!!!!! I’ve never felt more sure of anything, saying yes was the easiest decision I’ve ever made.”
The pair celebrated their engagement with a party in October 2025 on their two-year anniversary.
“On cloud nine from the most incredible evening celebrating our love. A memorable party that wildly exceeded expectations,” Bernstein wrote via Instagram after the bash.
She shared, “Our engagement party took place at Alder Manor, a century-old chateau that feels like a European escape. We wanted a space that felt raw, romantic, and effortlessly beautiful. From the venue, food, music and decor ~ our guests described the night as elegant, ridiculously fun, and just so so special. We are so grateful to everyone that helped make it all happen!!”
As the year came to an end, Bernstein and Weisman appeared to be happily together and were even working on finishing construction on their new home in NYC.
“This apartment saw me at the very beginning of a new chapter ~ finding my footing again, rediscovering myself, and slowly building a life that felt like home. So many moments, milestones, and memories live within these walls,” Bernstein wrote via Instagram in December 2025 while saying goodbye to her old pad. “Leaving is emotional, but it feels like proof of how far I’ve come. Forever grateful for this chapter, and ready for the next 🥹✨🚚.”
Bernstein shared a series of photos and videos from her best times at her former apartment, including several kissing moments with Weisman.
When it came to documenting her 2025 year in review, Bernstein shared a video compilation from the past 12 months jam-packed with intimate moments with her then-fiancé.
“My absolute favorite video to make every year, 2025 recapped in 365 half a second clips 🥹🤍 what a freaking year!!” she captioned the video, shared one day after Christmas.
Bernstein also reflected on her posts that “performed best in 2025,” pointing to pictures that included “commitment, carbs, and SPF.”
Among her highlights, she included even more romantic pictures of her and Weisman pre-split.
