Unwanted ‘Pratt bro’ dragged out of Spencer’s party as his shocking past is revealed

News RoomBy News RoomJune 3, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

An enthusiastic Spencer Pratt fan spotted trying to share the spotlight with Los Angeles mayoral candidate as he spoke to the media Tuesday night is a Jan. 6 rioter and convicted drug dealer.

Jonathan Mellis — who stood smiling behind Pratt before security appear to shuffle him away as the candidate gave a live interview from his election-night party — was outed by viewers for his notorious past.

He pleaded guilty to assaulting an officer at the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol and had previously been convicted of conspiracy to manufacture or sell methamphetamine, in addition to a history of arrests including for domestic violence, NPR reported.

Mellis later claimed on social media that he was “assaulted” at the party, posting a video of security walking him out. At one point, as security follows him out onto the street, there seems to be a small tussle and Mellis ends up on the ground.

Mellis appears to be a big Pratt supporter and earlier gave an interview to NBC News with a drink in his hand while talking about his support for the candidate.

“[H]e’s speaking out against communism and socialism, and it is a real big problem in our cities, especially in LA, where it’s turned to crap. It’s not an accident,” Mellis said. “They’re doing it by design. Karen Bass wants to destroy our city, and it’s nice to see someone like Spencer Pratt.”

Mellis also seemed to cause trouble when the interview turned raucous, as he and another reported “Pratt bro” began darting back into the camera’s view after the interviewer tried to move on.

During the Pratt interview, Mellis stood silently in the background nodding with a smile across his face as the candidate spoke.

A person in the background can be seen approaching Mellis, as Pratt looks back and says, “Excuse me, Sir.”

Pratt then awkwardly moved away while continuing the answer reporter questions.
