President Trump said that on Iran, he is deciding between “blowing them up entirely” and letting the regime “rot economically” if they don’t agree to a peace deal.
In a call with Fox News on Sunday, Trump laid out three possible paths for Iran: they make a deal with the US or Trump will choose between “letting them rot economically,” or wiping Iran out entirely.
“My question is, if and when do I blow the entire nation up?” Trump said. “They better behave.”
Trump’s warning comes as the US-Iran conflict enters its seventh month, with Trump repeatedly signaling that he is weighing whether to intensify military operations, or enter another deal with the country. Earlier this week, Trump told Axios that he had a “big decision coming up,” over whether to “annihilate” Iran’s regime.
Trump has also said that he thinks the war could be ending soon, while insisting Tehran must agree to what he calls an acceptable deal. At the same time, Iran has warned the administration against further attacks.
