President Trump was captured by TV cameras standing next to his wife, Melania, Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum and FIFA President Gianni Infantino at the World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney appeared to be standing next to Sheinbaum.
Trump looked excited about the big game. The US president has mused about hosting another World Cup in the future without Mexico and Canada.
Ahead of his arrival, multiple advocacy groups distributed red cards to fans so that they could hold them up in protest against Trump and Infantino when they present the trophy to Sunday’s winner.
