President Trump is demanding a Department of Justice probe and prison for ‘extortionist’ Democrats who have been threatening GOPers and even those who donate to the party in the wake of the midterm blowout.
“The Democrats are going around threatening a lot of people, including the Attorney General of the United States, and others, with Impeachment and many other forms of punishment, even though they admit they have no reason to do so, and there have been no impeachable acts committed, or even thought of, by the victims of this illegal process,” he wrote on his Truth Social Saturday.
“This is extortion at the highest level, and they should be held accountable for this.”
He continued: “Also, they’re threatening our Donors, some of the most respected people anywhere in the World, with imprisonment, and many other levels of punishment, just because they happen to be Republicans, or Republican supporters. This is Weaponization and Lawfare at another level.”
His post comes after House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) warned people in the aftermath of the Democrats’ Election Day tsunami to “lawyer up.”
A pair of House Democrats, Reps. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) and Deborah Ross this week (D-N.C.) floated impeaching US Attorney General Todd Blanche over what Johnson called efforts to “undermine the rule of law.”
Rep. Thomas Massey (R-Ky.), who Trump helped to unseat in a primary, has announced plans to force a vote on impeaching Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and Gov. JB Pritzker (D-Ill.) have each called for a probe of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was previously run by the world’s richest man Elon Musk.
Musk dumped more than $400 million into the midterms backing Republicans.
Trump called out Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), who infuriated Republicans last month when she called for sending a “deterrence message” to young college grads thinking about joining the Trump administration.
“The imprisonment should be against these EXTORTIONISTS, and Republicans should get smart, fast!” Trump wrote, a day after naming enforcer Stephen Miller as his new chief of staff.
