Trump allies think Kimberly Guilfoyle’s ‘hope’ for a pardon will keep her from lashing out

News RoomBy News RoomOctober 13, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s just-ousted ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, known for her diva demands and emotional outbursts, is unlikely to lash out at President Trump and his family because she may need a pardon over the scandal that forced her from office, sources told The Post.

“She’s gonna need a pardon and if she doesn’t behave she ain’t getting one,” a person close to the White House and Trump family said shortly after Trump demanded — and received — her resignation following allegations that she solicited money for favors and received gifted travel from Greek businessmen.

“If I were her, I’d probably shut up and hope for it,” said a second person close to the White House.

Guilfoyle dated Donald Trump Jr. between early 2018 and late 2024, giving her a rare glimpse into the Trump family’s most private conversations and dealings — and making her a potential star witness against the president if congressional Democrats win the midterms on Nov. 3.

The president distanced himself from Guilfoyle Tuesday afternoon, telling reporters: “She wasn’t a member of my family. She, I guess, dated my son a long time ago.”

Guilfoyle denied wrongdoing in her farewell statement.

“These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity,” Guilfoyle wrote. “I have dedicated my professional life to fighting for justice, standing up for what is right, and defending the values that make America exceptional. I will not allow false accusations to define my decades of public service.”

Trump nominated Guilfoyle to be ambassador to Greece shortly after the end of her engagement to the first son in what one person close to the family called a “soft landing,” before she went on to engage in conduct that the president decided crossed the line.

There’s unlikely to be another soft landing after she was ousted from her diplomatic post, sources said, with the best she can hope for being clemency that heads off the ruinous legal bills from criminal investigations and possible legal penalties.

A third source close to the White House and familiar with Guilfoyle’s record agreed that a pardon might keep her in line — but described her boisterous personality as difficult to contain.

“Kim is a well-known and world-class fabulist. She is definitely emotional… and could also just say a bunch of crazy stuff,” this person said.

“There is a presumption she has all this dirt that honestly she doesn’t,” he insisted. “It’s Kim, so she can make stuff up obviously, but she’s not exactly a reliable narrator.”

The facts behind the cascading controversies linked to her diplomatic role remain murky, and although she mounted little public defense, her allies have offered explanations for some of her seemingly shady conduct, such as allegedly asking businessman Eric Deters to pay off a $100,000 credit card bill in exchange for favors.

Guilfoyle has told people the money was an unpaid speaking fee, and it’s unclear how the lack of payment would impact her legal liability.

It’s also unclear to what extent her allegedly self-described free luxury travel from foreign tycoons intersected with her government role, and whether she ever made good on reported pledges to make people who assisted her wealthy.

However, the process of undergoing a criminal investigation can be grueling.

“Whatever the case, it certainly will be looked at, which would likely be a huge process and a lot of legal fees,” the second source said, noting “she knows well from Jan. 6” the punishing nature of criminal investigations.

Guilfoyle, who is the ex-wife of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.), committed much of her resignation statement to pledging continued loyalty to Trump.

“While my time as Ambassador may be coming to an end, my commitment to President Trump, the America First movement, and the country I love will never end,” she wrote, concluding her statement: “God bless President Trump, God bless our incredible diplomats and service members, and God bless the United States of America.”
