Tim Walz’s golf game leaves the internet in shock, the NFL is already dunking on the NBA & Kristin Cavallari!

Sophie Cunningham Should NOT Go MAGA | Tomi Lahren Is Fearless

The two also tackle Clay Travis’s $10 million Nashville Balls challenge to the WNBA, Aaron Rodgers calling out Tony Fauci and ESPN over network hypocrisy, the wild Tour de France padded bra aerodynamic debate, and the conspiracy theory surrounding the LA Dodgers.

‘Nightcaps’ is a daily column that catches you up on the biggest sports, news and culture stories you may have missed while pretending to do work at your desk. It runs Monday–Friday on OutKick.com.

Here we are. A new week! We’ve reached the double-digits of August.

Weren’t we just saying that about July? Time flies when you’re dealing with the WNBA!

What a weekend for that league, huh? They bloodied Sophie Cunningham then declared white privilege. Can you believe it? Of course you can!

Just wait. We’re about a day away from the Carrington girl talking about all the racist messages she’s received via social media. I’m telling you. It’s coming. They have a playbook, and it’s right on schedule right now.

Anyway, enough about that league. They’re meeting this week to figure out what a “woman” is. They’ve got enough to deal with!

Welcome to a Monday Nightcaps — the one where Tim Walz throws on a quarter-zip and plays golf at what appears to be a $25-per-round local muni in Minnesota.

PRESIDENT TRUMP RECEIVES BIG CHEERS FROM SPECTATORS DURING LIV GOLF EVENT AT HIS NEW JERSEY CLUB

Wait till you see this swing!

What else? I’ve got a couple wild catches in the world of baseball — including an honest question about the Savannah Bananas — and the NFL checked back in last week and put up a ratings number that rivals the Daytona 500.

In the HALL OF FAME game! The King is back, boys and girls. Playtime is over.

OK, shut your computer off and take a nap to honor Congress’ favorite day — National Lazy Day! — and settle in for a Monday ‘Cap.

Rate Tim Walz’s golf game

Yes, today is actually National Lazy Day. The jokes write themselves. I won’t make any, because they’re all too easy, but you can probably figure it out.

Anyway, let’s go ahead and get this week started with everyone’s favorite governor!

Tim Walz hopped on Elon’s Twitter and had the internet play a round of golf with him at Northwest Angle Country Club. He battled about 4 billion flies during the 2-minute clip, but still managed to smoke a ball off the tee and then finish the hole on some gravel with a two-putt bogey.

All in a single quarter-zip.

What a moment:

What’s the real deal with the Bananas?

Incredible. I have so many questions.

For starters, what’s the deal with the tee box? Is he teeing off in just straight grass? Is that a driver off the deck? I can’t even see the tee!

It literally looks like he’s hitting a tee shot out of the rough.

I’m so confused.

The swing itself? Also a bit of a head-scratcher. I’m not trying to hate on Tim Walz here, although I’m obviously not a fan. I’ve got no problem admitting a liberal has a good golf game … if said liberal has a good golf game.

This swing from Tim Walz leaves a lot to be desired. No shot that first shot went 220. None. It was a half swing at best with no finish!

Tim said this was the sixth hole. A quick Google search, which was surprisingly difficult for a golf course, shows me the sixth hole is a 261-yard Par-4. Walz says he has 100 yards in on his second shot.

That would put his drive at 161 yards. Not quite 220, but that’s what Learning Center math gets you, I reckon.

The icing on the cake of this whole thing is the quarter-zip with no undershirt. Diabolical move by the governor. Absolutely psycho behavior. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that before on a golf course.

I pull off that look once in a while at home, but only at night when it’s all I have in the dresser because we’re three weeks behind on laundry. Not sure I’d ever go out on an actual golf course rocking that look. Wild stuff.

Anyway, congrats on the bogey, Tim! Onward.

SUPER BOWL CHAMP RUSSELL WILSON TAKES SWING FOR SAVANNAH BANANAS

Moving on …

I’ve got an honest question for anyone in class today about the Savannah Bananas …

An actual catch, the NFL is back & Kristin takes us home!

All I see on my timeline are these insane plays by Banana Ball players. It’s constant. Every week, it’s something new.

Do these guys ever screw one of these up? As in, do we just see the good stuff on the timeline, when in reality, they have moments during actual games where they try this stuff and it just doesn’t work?

I find it hard to believe that they’ve never screwed up one of these trick plays. It’s almost impossible. So, has anyone here A) been to a game, and B) seen someone completely botch a play? Let me know!

OK, let’s rapid-fire this Monday class into a big Monday night. First up? Here’s an actual catch from an actual game over the weekend, for those pining for some real baseball:

You know, I’ve always thought that was a decent strategy for an outfielder. Instead of going all out to make an improbable catch, try to just knock it back into the field of play and see if you can grab it on the way down.

I’ve never seen it actually work in real life, until Mark Coley II pulled it off over the weekend. 10/10. No notes. Excellent baseball play, excellent baseball IQ. Well done.

Next? The NFL returned last Thursday for the Hall of Fame game and reminded America that we are, in fact, ruled by a King:

Lordy. Seven million! For the HALL OF FAME game. Do you understand how insane of a number that is? You don’t?

How’s this for a stat:

The NBA averaged 6.35 million viewers for all playoff games across ABC, ESPN, Prime Video, NBC and Peacock this past season. It was the league’s best figure since 1998.

The NFL’s most useless preseason game (aren’t they all?) surpassed it.

Goodness gracious.

OK, that’s it for today. Good class, everyone. Good start to the week.

Here’s Kristin Cavallari wrapping up her summer with a bang to take us home.
