TikTok star Michael Armstrong announced that his wife, Emma, suffered a stillbirth less than one month before their son was due.
“It’s been hard to find words for this, but it’s with a heavy heart to share that our sweet baby has passed at 37 weeks,” Armstrong (who fans know as Michael Armstrong Love) shared via social media on Saturday, June 14.
Armstrong explained that “three weeks ago” his wife “noticed there wasn’t movement in her belly” and “felt something was off.” After receiving an ultrasound, doctors confirmed there was no heartbeat. “We were shattered,” the influencer continued, noting Emma was due in “a little over three weeks.”
Emma, who goes by Fiire Love on social media, underwent a stillbirth and delivered their child after 37 hours in labor, according to Armstrong, who revealed they waited until the birth to learn the sex.
“It was a sweet surprise amongst the grief to meet our precious, beautiful little baby boy,” he wrote of the couple’s son, named Zen Diamond Love.
Armstrong explained that after Emma gave birth there was “no sign of what went wrong,” which the pair have been trying to wrap their heads around.
“I’ve been balancing the divine purpose of it all and the truth of deep grief,” the TikToker continued. “I know our souls wouldn’t have chosen this experience if there wasn’t a greater purpose, but the devastation is real.”
Armstrong noted, “The love that’s poured in has been a light in the darkness. Our friends here in Kauai have been delivering food and everything else to us. Absolute angels. I’ve been able to devote my energy to taking care of Emma, who is navigating an unimaginable postpartum journey with such strength.”
He added that despite losing Zen, the couple now see their baby as a “precious guardian angel.”
Armstrong, who shared a photo of his baby boy’s hand, then praised his wife for her strength through the tragedy.
“She carried our son with such grace and love, singing to him each night and morning in bed. She brought him into the world with fierce devotion having a natural birth the way she wanted,” he shared. “She’s been traveling through this heartbreak and physical pain with unwavering courage. She feels it all fully. I am inspired by her.”
Armstrong — who gained fame for his hypnosis masterclass and discussions about past lives — thanked his followers and loved ones for “holding us in your hearts,” adding that the pair are “taking it day by day, moment by moment and letting love lead us through.”
Armstrong and Emma got married in April 2024, calling each other “soulmates” who have the “ultimate love story.”
Less than one year later, the duo announced they were expecting their first baby. “There’s a miracle growing inside of my womb,” Emma captioned their pregnancy reveal video posted in January.
Emma continued to keep their followers in the loop about her pregnancy journey, sharing bump updates and photos along the way. Following Armstrong’s stillbirth announcement, Emma also shared a message about their grief she is experiencing.
“I must of spent hours every day just imagining all the things I would do with my baby and the mother I would get to be. It’s all we talked about all year. We were preparing for the happiest day [of] our life and instead we got our worst,” she wrote via Instagram on Saturday.
Emma confessed, “The terror and shock still courses through my body. This is not a share about some silver lining or Gods plan though I have felt the divinity and love like a breath for air that desperately gasp for while I drown. This is me sharing my shock.”
She continued, “For any human that has felt the ground ripped from underneath them. For any mother that has lost her baby. The shock, denial, confusion, longing, love and unbearable heartbreak of a loss like this all gets a seat at the table.”
