Teen Mom’s Taylor Selfridge is trying her best to “be an adult” after Cory Wharton apologized for his poor behavior on The Challenge.
“I just feel like people want me to crash out. They want to see what I have to say,” Taylor, 32, said via Snapchat on Thursday, September 3. “They want to see the drama. I get it. I’d want to see it too. But I’m trying to use my brain of mine, and yeah, I’m just trying to use my brain.”
Some fans have been questioning Taylor’s relationship status with Cory, 35, after cameras caught him getting flirty with Izzy Fairthorne on The Challenge: Cutthroat.
Although Cory and Izzy, 27, have not kissed or gotten physical while competing on the show, the pair have both commented on their magnetic and undeniable chemistry.
“If I hear the word f***ing ‘magnet’ or, ‘We’re not doing anything wrong. We’re not crossing a line,’” Taylor said when imitating Izzy’s voice. “I swear I’m gonna rip my f***ing hair out.”
Taylor’s videos came after Cory issued a public apology for his behavior during the season.
“I just wanna say this quick, I’ve apologized to the person who needed to hear it the most,” Cory wrote via X on Thursday. “I’m gonna continue to handle things behind closed doors. It’s been a very long time since I haven’t been proud of who I see on camera, and this is one of those times.”
In a separate post, the reality star added, “I’m not trying to make excuses. I’m not trying to put the blame on anybody but myself. I’m a big boy. I knew what I was doing. I didn’t handle myself appropriate for the situation because of the harm that it’s causing the people around me.”
As Taylor received supportive messages from her followers, the Teen Mom star said she is trying to be careful with her words so as to not add any fuel to the proverbial fire.
“I feel like I’m a hot mess, but this is why I’m trying not to say s*** on the Internet because I’m going to act out on emotion, and I’m trying not to do that because I am somebody’s mother,” she said. “I can’t be acting a fool.”
Taylor continued, “I don’t want to be like that anymore because I have been before, obviously. I don’t want to do that so this is why I avoid answering questions about things or talking about things because I’m trying to — I don’t know — be an adult.”
Cory and Taylor met on season 1 of Ex on the Beach in 2018 and dated briefly after the show wrapped. After a split, they reconciled and welcomed daughters Mila, 6, and Maya, 4. (Cory also shares daughter Ryder, 9, with ex Cheyenne Floyd.)
As The Challenge: Cutthroat continues airing, Cory promised his supporters that he’s working on himself and trying to be a better man for his family.
“A lot of the times when you’re in the spotlight, it’s bigger than you and I lost sight of that,” he wrote via X on Thursday. “I was selfish and being a narcissist. And I apologize. I’ll get better. I’ll seek therapy & continue to be a loving, present father to my daughters 🫡✊🏽.”
The Challenge: Cutthroat is streaming now on Paramount+ with new episodes dropping on Wednesday.
