Taylor Swift walked away empty-handed at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Swift, 36, and her 2025 concert movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour — The Final Show, lost all five eligible Emmys during the Saturday, September 5, awards ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The Grammy winner was nominated in five categories for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour — The Final Show. (Swift embarked on her record-breaking Eras Tour from March 2023 to December 2024. She filmed the entirety of the last concert, and an accompanying behind-the-scenes docuseries, for Disney+.)
The Eras Tour — The Final Show special was directed by Glenn Weiss and earned Emmy nods for Best Variety Special (Prerecorded), Best Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a special.
“One of the things that I was so impressed by, and the needle Glenn threaded so effortlessly, is that the Eras Tour was such a phenomenon because of so many factors,” Swift told Emmy voters in Los Angeles last month about making the film. “One that I know that is really important is that it was a source of great escapism for the people who were there. Glenn and I had conversations about ‘How do we preserve this experience?’”
She continued at the time, “If you lose the feeling of relaxation and freedom for the fans there, then you’ve lost a huge element of what makes this concert experience so special. Glenn created a situation where the fans could be lost in the moment because of the rehearsals that he did with our dancers and me leading into the final show.”
Swift also mentioned how the backstage crew’s duties were equally impressive as the onstage performers.
“If you liked the choreography that you saw of our dancers, you should have seen the footwork of our Steadicam operator,” the pop star quipped.
Swift won her first (and only) Emmy Award in 2015 for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media—Original Interactive Program for her Amex Unstaged: Taylor Swift Experience special.
Swift’s 2026 Emmys loss complements off an otherwise exciting summer for the pop star, who contributed to the Toy Story 5 soundtrack in June, weeks before marrying NFL star Travis Kelce in a star-studded ceremony held at Madison Square Garden.
“The night was a night we’ll never forget,” Kelce, 36, gushed on the Wednesday, September 2, episode of his “New Heights” podcast, marveling over the “magical” nuptials. “Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, you know, from the vows to just seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening. … I wish it could’ve lasted even longer than it did, it felt like it just happened in the blink of an eye.”
