Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen Argued Over Abuse While in Bed With Baby: Police Report

News RoomBy News RoomApril 24, 20260 ViewsNo Comments

Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex Dakota Mortensen allegedly shared multiple videos of the former couple arguing after he called the police.

A Draper County Police Department report obtained by Us Weekly on Wednesday, April 22, claims that Mortensen, 33, shared six videos with officers as evidence of alleged domestic violence. In one video filmed in September 2024, Mortensen captured Paul, 31, while they were in a hotel bed together with their 2-year-old son, Ever.

In the footage, Paul reportedly questioned why Mortensen was filming the interaction. He claimed that she was “attacking” him and that there was a red mark on his face. Paul responded that Mortensen was also pinching her, leaving a red spot on her shoulder blade.

The pair further argued about whether Mortensen was emotionally abusive, prompting him to remind the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star that she allegedly “beat him” for two years. Paul also said that she did not want to be filmed, resulting in even more fighting between the couple.

Paul was arrested in February 2023 after a domestic violence incident with Mortensen. She pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault as part of a plea deal to dismiss the remaining charges pertaining to child abuse and subsequently placed on probation. Footage from the fight resurfaced in March, showing Paul physically assaulting and throwing chairs at Mortensen in front of her daughter. (Taylor shares daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul.)

Taylor, who categorically denied the domestic violence accusations, and Mortensen were the subject of another police investigation last month after a second alleged altercation. Draper PD officers were called to Taylor’s house in February after a separate incident with Mortensen.

“There’s more to the context to everything and it’s unfortunate,” Taylor exclusively told Us Weekly in March, denying the accusations. “It’s been hard. It sucks to be in this position. And the mother that I am, that is something I will always stand my ground on. I believe that I am a good mother and I have always treated my kids very well.”

Amid the investigation, Mortensen was granted a temporary protective order against Taylor, which barred the exes from having contact and awarded him full custody of Ever. A judge ruled on April 7 that Taylor is allowed weekly supervised visitation with Ever until a separate court hearing later this month. She also filed her own temporary protective order against Mortensen.

The next week, Us confirmed that Draper PD declined to press charges against Taylor following the February incident.

“Taylor feels like she will bounce back from this, especially now that there won’t be any charges filed against her,” a source exclusively told Us on Friday, April 17. “She knows her legal battle is far from over but does feel like she had a small victory.”

As for Mortensen, he noted in a social media statement that he took “a step back” amid the scandal.

“Over the past several weeks, I’ve taken a step back and had time away from the chaos. That space has been a breath of fresh air and has given me clarity,” he wrote in a Monday, April 20, statement. “My focus now is where it should have been all along-on my son and creating a stable, healthy environment for him moving forward.”

He continued, “I regret not stepping away from the difficult cycle sooner. I’m not perfect, and I take accountability for my part. I’m sincerely sorry to those I’ve hurt. At the same time, I don’t agree with how this situation has been portrayed publicly. It does not reflect the full context of what occurred or the impact it has had on me and my son.”

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 for confidential support.
