This week’s Houston Open will go on without the world’s top golfer.
Scottie Scheffler abruptly withdrew from the PGA Tour event on Tuesday, according to various reports, which noted he and wife Meredith are set to welcome their second child.
The couple became first-time parents in May 2024 with the arrival of son Bennett.
Meredith, who has been married to Scheffler, 29, since 2020, welcomed their baby boy just weeks after the four-time major champion sealed his second Masters victory.
Scheffler, who won the PGA Championship and the British Open in 2025, is expected to contend for his third Masters title next month at Augusta National.
He won his first green jacket in 2022.
The Houston Open gets underway Thursday.
