Savannah James’ advice for WAGs — and the ‘facade’ that could ruin it all

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 7, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

Savannah James pulled back the curtain on her personal life with her husband, LeBron James.

During an appearance on the “Question Everything” podcast, the entrepreneur explained advice that she wishes she implemented earlier in their relationship — and she didn’t sugarcoat how hard it is to be an NBA wife to the league’s all-time leading scorer.

Savannah and LeBron, who signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the 76ers last month, met as teenagers in Akron, Ohio and tied the knot in 2003.

They share three children together with sons Bronny and Bryce and daughter Zhuri.

“Something that I didn’t do earlier that I wish I would have done is to pay attention to yourself as much as you’re paying attention to your partner,” Savannah said. “Don’t lose yourself in all of the things. Don’t lose yourself in the babies if they come. Don’t lose yourself in the facade of what all of this looks like.

“Try to stay grounded. Try to stay, I guess, authentic to who you are and what this connection was [with your partner] from the very beginning. And I think this really helped LeBron and I.

“We are the most normal people from what the world thinks and sees. We are so from Akron, Ohio through and through. It’s all we can do. And I think that has what kept us so grounded and [kept] the main thing the main thing for all of these years.

“If I could give any advice, I would just say to stay grounded and stay intentional with who you are, who your partner is, and how you guys got to be — to get to this point and just support each other through the evolution of it.”

Savannah explained that she stood by LeBron and supported his career because she knew they were meant to be together.

“I think for me, what it boils down to is, is that your person? It’s very easy when it’s just like ‘OK, whatever, onto the next,’” she said.

“But when you know that that’s your person and this is who I’m supposed to be with, and [they’re] supposed to be in my life and who I’m supposed to support and champion through his career, it just kind of works.”

When “Question Everything” host Danielle Robay asked, “Is it harder than people think it is?” Savannah said, “Girl,” and laughed.

“I think it is made to look a certain way and I feel like that is what people desire,” She continued. “So when it comes back to real life and real emotion and real growth and real distraction, that’s when it gets tricky.

“So you really have to be invested in your person. And also it’s a deep level of understanding — a deep level of patience that you have to have. Just understanding where they come from, what the situation is and what could be. Being grounded is very, I think, important in all of it.”

James, 41, is entering his 24th NBA season.

Savannah and April McDaniel, who are friends and business partners, were promoting their podcast “Everybody’s Crazy.”
