Russell Wilson Reacts to His Name Being Mentioned in the Jeffrey Epstein Files

News RoomBy News RoomFebruary 2, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

NFL quarterback Russell Wilson took to social media after his name was mentioned in the latest batch of files related to the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

“NOPE!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT! Not TODAY satan!” Wilson, 37, wrote via X on Sunday, February 1. “Some Random plane broker tried to sell me a plane. I had no idea whose plane and never bought the plane. Never talked nor Never met the man. Thank God!!! 🙏🏾.”

Wilson’s name was brought up multiple times in a series of emails in the documents released by the Department of Justice on Friday, January 30.

According to the documents, Epstein exchanged messages with his personal pilot, Larry Visoski, in 2019 about Wilson purchasing Epstein’s Gulfstream G-IV private jet.

On January 27, 2019, Visoski sent an email to Epstein saying Wilson was calling “non-stop” after viewing the plane.

“Here is the dilemma, according to Russell,” the email said. “Russell wants to sign his new contract with the Seattle SeaHawks [sp] before letting the media and his team know that he is Purchasing a Plane, he is concerned it will effect [sp] his contract negotiations for some reason?? Russell is asking for a way to lock up the plane until his deal is signed, could be 2 weeks, or 2 months, or 2 more.”

Wilson signed a four-year, $140 million contract extension with the Seahawks on April 16, 2019.

The email said Wilson took “many photos and video” during a test flight. He was joined by his wife, Ciara, described by Visoski as “a fairly popular singer.”

Another email suggested that Wilson could put down a $500,000 deposit on the plane with 90 days to close on a $2.7 million final asking price.

Wilson’s publicist Stephanie Jones told The Seattle Times on Sunday, February 1, that the NFL star “never purchased the aircraft, nor was he aware that any aircraft discussed by third parties had any connection to Epstein.”

Wilson did end up purchasing a 2000 Gulfstream G-IV, which was registered to a Seattle-based West2East 330 LLC in December 2020, according to the Times.

The jet was pictured on social media in March 2022 after Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos.

Wilson posed for a photo outside of the jet with his agent, Mark Rodgers, after the trade. Sports business expert Joe Pompliano reported at the time that the plane “can probably seat about 15 people and costs around $1M to $2M a year to operate, depending on fuel prices and how much he uses it.”

In September 2022, Wilson signed a five-year, $245 million contract extension with the Broncos.

The Broncos released Wilson in March 2024. He signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers that same month.

After one season in Pittsburgh, Wilson signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the New York Giants in March 2025. After starting the season as the Giants’ starter, Wilson was eventually replaced by rookie Jaxson Dart and he is scheduled to become a free agent in March.

“Yeah, I’m not blinking,” Wilson told ESPN about his desire to keep playing in January. “I know what I’m capable of.”
