Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. invoked former President Joe Biden’s “delusional” behavior when asked on Friday if President Trump should be removed from office under the 25th Amendment.
Rep. Mark Takano (D-Calif.) expressed concern during a congressional hearing with Kennedy over Trump’s recent social media posts threatening Iranian “civilization,” criticizing Pope Leo and portraying himself as a Christ-like figure – arguing they suggest the president is mentally unwell.
“Millions of Americans are questioning this president’s mental fitness, his emotional stability, and whether he can carry out the duties of his office. Do you share their concerns about his mental health?” Takano asked the health secretary.

“I call your attention to – ” Kennedy began answering before the congressman interrupted.
“Mr. Secretary, my question was: Do you share their concerns about his mental health?” Takano asked again, adding, “We need a leader that we know has full command of his mental faculties and is emotionally stable as he sends uniformed American men and women into harm’s way.”
“Millions of Americans are now wondering if this president is delusional and thinks he is Jesus Christ,” the congressman claimed. “Mr. Secretary, given everything that I’ve shown you today, will you insist that President Trump undergo an assessment of his mental fitness and his emotional stability?”
Kennedy shot back: “Absolutely not.”
Takano then asked Kennedy if he would invoke the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal of a president who is deemed unable to fulfill the duties of the office, should Trump fail a mental fitness test.
“There hasn’t been a president who is more sane or stable …” Kennedy began before Takano interrupted once again.
“Mr. Secretary, my question is would you vote to invoke the 25th Amendment,” the congressman pressed.
“Look at the video of President Biden this week,” Kennedy responded. “That’s who you supported.”
“He’s delusional,” the HHS secretary said of the 83-year-old former president.
“He thought a guy was Barack Obama,” Kennedy continued, talking over Takano, who continued shouting his question about the 25th Amendment.
Kennedy was referring to an incredibly awkward moment at Syracuse University School of Law earlier this week where Biden demanded that one of the institution’s board members join him at the podium because he thought the black man resembled former President Barack Obama.
“Barack, what are you doing?” Biden asked Jeffrey Scruggs, the chairman of the school’s Board of Trustees.
“Doesn’t he look like Barack?” the former president asked the crowd, as Scruggs shook his head in apparent disbelief.
