Rep. Lauren Boebert’s photo of Hillary Clinton throws wrench into Oversight deposition – here are other times she went rogue

News RoomBy News RoomFebruary 27, 20262 ViewsNo Comments

Bombastic Rep. Lauren Boebert sparked a firestorm Thursday for snapping an authorized picture of Hillary Clinton during the middle of her deposition before the powerful House Oversight Committee, then leaking the image to conservative pundit Benny Johnson, who posed it on X.

Discovery of the photo prompted the hours-long grilling of Clinton over her knowledge of late sex predator Jeffrey Epstein to be put on pause while the panel sorted through a violation of deposition rules.

“The hearing just went off the record for a moment,” a staffer for Clinton told reporters outside the deposition, “which is against chamber rules that were read at the top of the meeting.”

Eventually, the proceedings resumed. Johnson’s heavily watermarked picture of Clinton quickly went viral online and triggered some backlash from the left, promptly Boebert (R-Col.) to leap to his defense.
“Benny did nothing wrong. Proceeding with deposition,” Boebert said on her own X account.

This was far from the first time the Colorado Republican went rogue and flouted decorum.

‘Beetlejuice’ groping saga

The 39-year-old grandma congresswoman famously got booted out of a Denver theater in 2023 following a frisky groping session during a “Beetlejuice” performance with her then-beau Quinn Gallagher, a Democrat.

In addition to the two getting very handsy with each other, they were seen blowing up a plume of vape smoke into the air, causing a disruption in a stunning moment caught on camera.

Theater officials cited concerns about the duo snapping photos in violation of theater policy. They had gotten complaints from those seated around Boebert and Gallagher. Boebert later apologized for the ordeal and revealed that her fling with Gallagher was over.

“I was a little too eccentric. I am very known for having an animated personality. Maybe overly animated personality,” the rabble-rouser rep later told One America News Network.

“I was laughing, I was singing, having a fantastic time. Was told to kind of settle it down a little bit, which I did, but then my next slip up was taking a picture.”

At the time, Boebert was going through a divorce from Jayson, who lamented that he had been “unfaithful to Lauren in so many ways.”

The two have dealt with trouble from their eldest son, Tyler, who was recently hit with another child abuse charge for allegedly letting his two-year-old son wander out of the home unattended.

Heckling Biden’s State of the Union

Famously, during former President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address in 2022, Boebert joined former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), with whom she’s since had an acrimonious relationship, in heckling the marquee speech.

“Build the wall,” the two eccentric women jeered as the elder president addressed Congress at the time.

When Biden raised concerns about toxic chemical exposures causing veterans to get cancer, “that would put them in a flag-draped coffin,” Boebert brought up the Kabul airport suicide bombing. The disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan months earlier had been fresh on everyone’s minds at the time.

“You put them in. Thirteen of them!” she shouted.

At one point, she cheered for Biden when he declared, “We should all agree: The answer is not to defund the police. It’s to fund the police.”

“That’s right!” Boebert said, clapping from her seat.

In the time since, heckling and disruptions at State of the Union and similar addresses have grown more common, with Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) getting booted from two of Trump’s speeches and “Squad” Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) heckled Trump throughout his address on Tuesday.

Verbal bathroom tussle with MTG

Boebert is rumored to have had a war of words with Greene in the bathroom back during the battle for the speaker’s gavel after Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) finally locked down the speakership in January 2023, after a record 15 rounds of voting.

On the first day of speakership votes, Boebert and Greene got into a “screaming match” in the Speaker’s lobby bathroom, the Daily Beast reported.

“Greene questioned Boebert’s loyalty to McCarthy, and after a few words were exchanged, Boebert stormed out,” a source told the outlet.

Tensions between the two MAGA firebrands have repeatedly flared in the time since. Months after the bathroom exchange, Greene blasted Boebert as that “little b—h” on the House floor. Greene was kicked out of the House Freedom Caucus as a result.

Hunt for transgenders in the women’s bathrooms

Toward the start of the 119th Congress, Boebert was spotted storming into a women’s bathroom in the Capitol alongside Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) on the lookout for a transgender woman who might’ve snuck in there.

“There was a rumor there was, but it wasn’t true,” Boebert later told reporter Billy House about why the pair stormed into the bathroom.

I bear witness: Rep. Lauren Boebert bursting out of the House Women’s restroom during this afternoon’s vote series , complaining to security personnel stationed in the nearby Speakers Lobby of “a guy” inside the bathroom… 1/4.

At the time, Mace had been crusading to ensure that only biological females could access the women’s facilities. That effort came in response to the election of Rep. Sarah McBribe (D-Del.), the first openly transgender member of Congress.

Boebert faced one of the closest congressional reelections in the country in 2022, when she narrowly bested Democrat Adam Frisch by about 546 votes.

After the nail-biter election victory, Boebert cut a video on X in which she committed to being “a good listener, to take a deep breath and help take the temperature down in D.C.”

She later hopped over from Colorado’s 3rd district to its 4th district during the 2024 election, avoiding a rematch against Frisch.
