Tessa Blanchard has found a new pro wrestling home in the U.S.

Blanchard revealed Monday in an interview with TMZ’s “Inside the Ring” that she is joining Major League Wrestling (MLW). The company said she will make her debut at MLW Fightland on Sept. 12 in Charleston, South Carolina.

“Heavy is the crown, but legacy isn’t handed to you… it’s forged under pressure,” she said in a news release. “I’ve earned my place as one of the best in the world at what I do, but I’m not coming to MLW to rest on the Blanchard name. MLW is bringing some of the purest, hardest-hitting action in the sport today, and the ‘Undeniable Diamond’ belongs right at the top of it.”

Blanchard parted ways with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) in June.

Blanchard is a third-generation pro wrestler. She’s the daughter of Tully Blanchard and the granddaughter of renowned promoter Joe Blanchard. She’s also the stepdaughter of Magnum T.A.

MLW’s relationship with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) makes Blanchard a good fit for the company. The promotion has utilized CMLL talent during its shows and has run joint events together, including Lucha Apocalypto in Chicago this year.

In CMLL, Blanchard has won the Women’s International Grand Prix and was a CMLL women’s tag team champion with Lluvia.

She joins a division that already includes star-studded names like Shotzi, Scarlett Bordeaux, Lady Frost and Priscilla Kelly. Shotzi currently holds the MLW Women’s World Championship.
