Off Campus star Belmont Cameli‘s girlfriend, Raina Morris, issued a message to fans who crossed a line with their behavior on social media.
“If you are a fan of my boyfriend: Yay! Please stop messaging my family members,” Morris wrote via her Instagram Story on Tuesday, July 14. “They are so confused. Write in your diary and then go on a walk instead! Love u.”
In a follow-up post, Morris shared a popular meme from Community, which she edited to read, “I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at DMing my distant cousins.”
This isn’t the first time Morris has had to speak out after Cameli, 28, was catapulted into the spotlight with the success of Off Campus. Morris previously reacted to rumors that she had “strict” rules for her Cameli’s fictional romance on the hit Prime Video show.
“Strictly business,” she joked via Instagram in May alongside a carousel of images, which included a photo from a TikTok that claimed Cameli was acting “distinctly cold” toward costar Ella Bright, who plays his love interest.
The video went on to allege that Morris made “three harsh rules” for Cameli while he worked on Off Campus.
“Unknown to everyone, his girlfriend, Raina Morris, has secretly set three strict rules for him,” the voiceover said. “An on-set supervisor must oversee all their intimate scene shoots. The show features numerous romantic moments and revealing shots between [their characters] Hannah and Garrett.”
The voiceover claimed that those scenes had to be “filmed with the full crew present” and alleged that Morris “banned any filming” of Cameli’s “private areas.” The false video continued to speculate that Cameli and Bright, 19, had to “wear custom attire for intimate scenes to prevent genuine physical contact.”
Based on the popular book series by Elle Kennedy, Off Campus follows an elite ice hockey team and the women in their lives. Season 1 focused on Hannah (Bright) and Garrett’s (Cameli) love story, and the costars formed a close friendship in real life.
Earlier this month, Bright addressed fans who wanted to see her and Cameli date off screen.
“I totally get [why fans want] it, but it is so weird,” Bright said on an episode of the “In Your Dreams With Owen Thiele” podcast. “Like, no.”
Bright referred to Cameli as “literally my brother.” She went on to explain how she hasn’t “seen that much” of the fan discourse about their friendship, adding, “I love him so much, but yeah, it’s very funny.”
The actress also pointed out that Cameli is already spoken for.
“He also has a perfect and beautiful, amazing girlfriend,” Bright added, referring to Morris, a TV writer, as “my angel on Earth.”
