Jets fans are demanding their pound of flesh right now, and that emotion is more than understandable given what we’ve witnessed across seven games of this season to date — lowlighted by Sunday’s humiliating home loss to the previously winless Dolphins.
But Aaron Glenn should not be fired today, tomorrow or even next Monday if, God forbid, his Jets leak away yet another potential win when they play the Raiders, losers of their past four games, Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Jets owner Woody Johnson should have learned from 2024 that firing a head coach in season (goodbye, Robert Saleh; hello, Jeff Ulbrich) doesn’t produce a spark or more wins, it only leads to more chaos.
The Jets are 2-5 and, barring a miracle, for the 16th consecutive season they’re not going to the playoffs and they appear en route to an 11th consecutive year without a winning record.
