Michael Cohen calls Trump ‘boss’ in soft interview — as felonious frenemy plans to call DOJ ‘tomorrow’ about pardon

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 20, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s notorious former “fixer” Michael Cohen made nice with the president on Thursday as he sought a pardon for evading taxes and other crimes — calling Trump “boss” and reminiscing about the old days, despite helping prosecutors convict Trump of 34 felonies in 2024.

“Boss, you remember when I was by your side? I literally used to analyze the polls,” Cohen, 59, gushed during a 15-minute portion of his sit-down with Trump that aired Thursday night on his WABC-77 radio program.

“Maybe what we should do is then have a press conference and literally put out all of the accomplishments,” Cohen suggested to Trump, whom he spent years accusing of being a “racist,” a “predator” and a “fraud” after pleading guilty and implicating Trump in wrongdoing in 2018.

Cohen served prison time after admitting he concealed $4 million in income from the IRS and lied to a bank to get a $500,000 loan — as well as pleading guilty to a campaign finance violation for his role in providing $280,000 in hush money payments to two women during the 2016 election.

The ex-lawyer later testified against Trump during Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s novel prosecution over the hush money payments.

Cohen began returning to Trump’s good graces as he aligned with the president’s claims that he was subjected to a Democratic “witch hunt.”

He said earlier this year he felt “pressured and coerced” to act against Trump by Bragg and New York Democratic Attorney General Letitia James.

Trump told Cohen during the interview that “I respect the fact that you recanted everything you said, and that’s a big thing that you did.”

Cohen is actively seeking a presidential pardon.

He told CNN host Jake Tapper in a promotional interview that he plans to call the Justice Department Friday to ensure it is processing his application.

“I have not received an acknowledgement that they have the application, which is on my to-do list, which I intend to call tomorrow to find out what happened because I did send it by FedEx, so I do have a receipt,” Cohen said.
