Men’s 1500M Speed Skating odds: Jordan Stolz a massive favorite to win third gold medal

American speed skating sensation Jordan Stolz has already won two gold medals and set a pair of world records at the 2026 Winter Olympics, but the odds suggest it would be a disappointment if the 21-year-old doesn’t grab a third in Thursday’s 1,500 meters Speed Skating Final.

Stolz is -1400 to stand atop the podium on Thursday, meaning that he’s got roughly a 93.3 percent chance of winning when you convert the odds to implied probability.

Those odds seem outrageous, but it’s hard to blame the bookies for setting such a short price given what we’ve seen from Stolz in Northern Italy thus far.

The native of Kewaskum, Wisc., not only won gold in the men’s 500 meters and 1,000 meters, but he did it in style, setting world records in both runs.

Stolz crossed the finish line in 33.77 seconds for the 500m, and then crushed the competition in 1:06.28 in the 1,000m.

He will also compete in the Men’s Mass Start Speed Skating event on Sunday. His price for that race is not nearly as eye-popping, but he’s still an odds-on favorite to win gold at -145.

Men’s 1,500 Meters Speed Skating odds

  • Jared Stolz, USA -1400
  • Zhongyan Ning, China 10/1
  • Kjeld Nuis, Netherlands 10/1
  • Joep Wennemars, Netherlands 25/1

A total of 20 men will compete in the 1,500 meters on Thursday, but only four of them, including Stolz, are priced under 30/1.

Zhonghyan Ning of China and Kjeld Nuis of the Netherlands are the second favorites at 10/1, while Joep Wennemars is the fourth choice at a robust price of 25/1.

Stolz is the No. 1-ranked skater in the 1500M, per the International Skating Union’s rankings, ahead of Nuis, Ning, and Germany’s Finn Sonnekalb, who is 50/1 to win the gold on Thursday morning.

Stolz is extremely likely to take care of business on Thursday, but it’s really hard to suggest a bet on anybody at this kind of price.
