Megyn Kelly says she’d remain a loyal GOP voter even if Trump dropped ‘a nuke’ on another country

News RoomBy News RoomApril 8, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Megyn Kelly said she would remain a loyal Republican voter even if President Trump launched a nuclear strike against another country – a remark made just hours before he threatened an all-out assault on Iran.

The former Fox News host fired off the wry comment during Monday’s episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show” while blasting Democrats as a “smug” and “arrogant” party that not only acts superior to others but would “nuke our own country” if returned to power.

“They’re crazy,” Kelly told conservative journalist Emily Jashinsky, adding that she “could never vote for” a lefty politician – pointing to Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin’s criticisms of War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

“I mean, honestly, Trump could drop a nuke and I’d still vote Republican over those people. What [Democrats] want to do is nuke our own country. You know, it’s like the open border, what they’re doing to children, all that stuff is still – they would do it if put back in power. I think most Republicans know that.”

Kelly made the remark just hours before Trump on Tuesday morning threatened to target Iran’s bridges and power plants – along with an ominous warning that “a whole civilization will die tonight” if the country failed to adhere to his 8 p.m. deadline to cut a ceasefire deal and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Since the war erupted 40 days ago, Iran has unleashed drones and missiles to sow chaos in the strait — a vital trade route through which roughly 20% of the world’s oil supply flows — sending gas prices soaring.

About 90 minutes before his deadline, Trump announced a two-week pause on military strikes on Iran.

“This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East,” the president wrote on Truth Social.

“We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated.”

Tehran will now allow passage through the Strait of Hormuz for the next two weeks under Iranian military management, Iran’s foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said in a statement.
