Kristy Scott’s Husband Desmond Breaks Silence on Her Filing for Divorce: ‘Made Choices I’m Not Proud of’

TikTok star Kristy Scott’s estranged husband, Desmond Scott, has broken his silence on the influencer filing for divorce after nearly 12 years of marriage.

“I want to begin by apologizing to Kristy, our family, and everyone who has been impacted by the public attention surrounding this situation,” Desmond, 31, announced via his Instagram Story on Saturday, January 10. “I know this news has been disappointing for many, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt it has caused.”

He went on, “Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I remain fully committed to being an active, present, and loving parent to our boys, as I have always been.”

Earlier in the day, Us Weekly confirmed that Kristy, 30, officially filed for divorce on December 30, 2025. Per TMZ, Kristy cited alleged infidelity as the reason for their split. (Kristy and Desmond have been married since 2014 and share two children: sons Vance and Westin.)

Documents filed by the social media star in Harris County, Texas, indicated that there is no hope of reconciliation for the former couple and that they “will soon stop living together as husband and wife.” Us has reached out to both parties for comment.

Via his Instagram Story, Desmond offered his perspective on what led up to his marriage of nearly 12 years falling apart.

“Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to work through them,” he explained. “Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate, and I had conversations with Kristy regarding this.”

Desmond acknowledged that he made “choices that I am not proud of” while he was trying to work through his separation from Kristy.

“I took responsibility for those actions,” he insisted. “I shared this with her directly and personally, and ultimately we decided to divorce. I ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter in our lives.”

The chef concluded his Instagram Story by thanking “everyone who has supported” his family over the years.

“I’m grateful for that support and I will continue sharing my love for cooking and the things that inspire me,” Desmond vowed. “I hope you’ll continue that journey with me.”

Kristy has yet to respond to her estranged husband’s Instagram post.

The influencers met when they were 14 and tied the knot in 2014. Following their 10th wedding anniversary in August 2024, Kristy and Desmond confirmed to People that they’d thrown a huge bash “focused on floral elegance.”

“Our guests felt like they were walking into a garden,” they said in a joint statement. “Our aim was to be elegant and timeless.”

Looking back on how far they’d come, Kristy and Desmond said, “We were teenagers and hadn’t even developed any style preferences, so this was our chance to redo our wedding as the adults that we are now, celebrating the life we’ve built and journey thus far.”

“This felt even more special than our wedding,” they added.

Desmond and Kristy have frequently featured on each other’s social media throughout their marriage. Over the years, Kristy has reached 9.5 million Instagram followers and 16.8 million on TikTok while Desmond has 1.8 million followers on Instagram and 1.5 million on TikTok.

Kristy most recently posted on TikTok to share her banana bread recipe on Tuesday, January 6, but made no obvious mention of a pending divorce filing. Her last post with Desmond was in December 2025.
