Taylor Swift may need to shake this one off.
Knicks point guard Tyler Kolek called out the “Patient Zero” hitmaker as the âfakestâ celebrity fan for jumping on the orange and blue bandwagon during the teamâs championship run this year.
Kolek and teammate Deuce McBride were tasked with answering a series of questions during an NBA 2K TikTok livestream on Thursday when they were asked, âWho is the fakest celebrity Knicks fan?â
“At the Knicks games, I would say it’s very performative,” Kolek said. “Because they just want to be seen at the game. They’re not necessarily fans.”
But he singled out the âBad Bloodâ singer as by far the biggest offender.
âMaybe Taylor Swift? I donât know if Iâve seen her at any other games,â Kolek said. “I guess she has a lot going on so she can’t come all the time. But it’s a little performative.”
McBride agreed but warned his teammate that âSwiftiesâ wouldnât like his answer.
âIâm going to get some hate from the Swifties,â Kolek acknowledged.
McBride praised the Knicks’ core group of celebrity fans, like Ben Stiller and Tracy Morgan, but noted that most stars were rarely seen at games outside of the championship series at Madison Square Garden in June.
Swift was among the many stars at Game 4 of the NBA Finals when the Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106.
The âCruel Summerâ artist sat courtside with singing sisters Este and Alana Haim, with the trio cheering on the team as she wore an orange-and-blue T-shirt that read âStevie Knicks.â
Swift had been in the Big Apple for the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony the night after her appearance at the Garden â less than a month before she and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce tied the knot at the venue
It wasnât the âCleveland!â singer’s first playoff game during the Knicksâ historic run.
She was caught rooting for the Cleveland Cavaliers alongside her Ohio-born husband during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, which drew the ire of Knicks fans.
The singer had also been spotted repping orange and blue long before this yearâs run.
Ahead of the NBA Finals, a Knicks fan page shared throwback snaps on X in May of the Grammy winner repping the team since the mid-2010s.
One showed the hitmaker in a jersey and hat posing alongside comedian Jimmy Fallon in 2015, while another captured her courtside with former Knicks stars Amarâe Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.
In a 2014 photo, Swift sported a purple Knicks T-shirt while taking in a game with her former bestie Karlie Kloss.
Kolekâs dig sparked a split reaction online, drawing agreement from some fans and backlash from Swifties.
âYall mad this take is on point,â one fan wrote in the comments of a TikTok clip of his remarks posted to NBA 2Kâs account.
âBeyond accurate,â wrote another.
âTaylor been to more Knicks games than you Tyler,â another commented, defending Swiftâs fandom.
