Kathy Griffin spins word salad excuse for $10K Eric Swalwell donation — says she’s clawed it back

News RoomBy News RoomApril 24, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Comedian Kathy Griffin owned up to giving $10,000 to Eric Swalwell’s failed campaign for California governor, giving a rambling excuse for her support of the accused rapist — and revealing what she did with the cash after clawing it back.

“I’m very proud I was able to get the donation back from Swalwell-world,” Griffin explained on her podcast, “Talk Your Head off.”

Griffin decided to donate to the accused sex pest, she previously stated, because he was a “freaking white, straight guy.”

The entertainer elaborated on her latest podcast episode published this week, saying she was burned after watching Kamala Harris lose the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump

“I watched Kamala Harris lose, although I think she really won,” Griffin alleged.

She referenced a report that former first lady Michelle Obama questioned whether Americans were ready for a woman president.

“I thought, okay, Mrs. Obama has said it,” Griffin said.

She revealed she clawed back the $10,000 donation and gave it to Democracy Now!, a progressive media organization.

Griffin reiterated that she “did not see that side of Swalwell,” who allegedly sexually harassed and assaulted multiple women while in Congress.

The disgraced congressman ended his campaign and resigned from the House of Representatives after horrifying claims surfaced, including a woman who alleged Swalwell drugged and raped her in a Los Angeles hotel in 2018 and an ex-staffer who said he assaulted her while she was intoxicated.

Swalwell is facing multiple investigations in California and New York into his alleged behavior.

These guys are “leading double lives,” Griffin added.

Griffin was one of numerous Hollywood celebs who embraced Swalwell’s career and donated thousands to his aborted bid for governor.

Actors Sean Penn, Robert De Niro and Jon Hamm also gave hefty donations to his campaign.
