Karen Bass caught doing the unthinkable during Trump visit

News RoomBy News RoomApril 23, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and her team are coming back from Washington, D.C. with more than just a beaming photo next to President Donald Trump, also hauling away some of his “Make America Great Again” merchandise.

Mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt, who is running as an independent, shared photos Wednesday that show Bass, LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, and their entourage standing on the sidewalk near an intersection in D.C.

In the photos, some of the people around the Democratic mayor are carrying red and white bags. The white bag included Trump’s signature trademark.

Pratt alleged that Bass’ team was carrying MAGA-branded products, which are infamous among liberals.

“Look at the MAGA merch! Karen Bass sold her soul to Trump in a last ditch desperation move ahead of the election,” Pratt said.

The mayor’s office declined to comment on the photos when reached by The California Post.

Bass and Barger were both in D.C. this week to meet with Trump over relief from the devastating Los Angeles wildfires last year. They came away claiming they have his backing to crack down on tight-fisted insurers.

“We had a very positive discussion about FEMA and other rebuilding funds as well as the support of the President to continue joining us in pressuring the insurance companies to pay what they owe – and for the big banks to step up to ease the financial pressure on L.A. families,” they said in a joint statement.

Behind the scenes, the talks reportedly centered on unlocking more federal disaster dollars through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, while also tackling the broader financial squeeze hammering fire-ravaged families.

City and county leaders have leaned heavily on Washington to speed things up, arguing that without serious federal muscle, recovery could drag on for years.

Pratt, who has registered as a Republican in the past, insinuated the merch was an attempt to appeal to Trump as the mayor spoke with the president. Bass is defending her seat against Pratt in this year’s election.

Some commenters questioned Pratt’s attack, saying it could insult Trump supporters who are fans of “Make America Great Again.”

“MAGA supports you in California, but if you go down this road you’re going to lose a lot of support,” one commenter said.
