John Cena Debuts Bald Head Ahead of 2nd Hair Transplant Procedure: ‘I Went All in for Best Results’

News RoomBy News RoomJune 30, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

John Cena is looking a little different as he prepares to undergo a second hair transplant.

The WWE wrestler-turned-actor shared a photo via X on Monday, June 29, showing off his newly shaved head.

“Round 2 of FUE treatment, and this time I went all in for best possible results,” he wrote alongside the photo, which also features his doctor. “Thank you @KenAndersonMD and the staff at Anderson Center for Hair for accompanying me on this journey!”

Follicular unit excision (FUE) treatment is a hair transplant procedure that involves taking “individual follicular units (natural clusters of hairs grouped in 1-4 hairs each) from the back of the head and at times from the beard and other body regions” and transplanting them “typically back into balding areas of the scalp or other areas of the body as aesthetically needed,” according to the medical nonprofit organization The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).

Cena, 49, first confirmed he underwent a hair transplant in April 2025 during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“There’s another headline for ya: hair transplant,” he said. “There’s no shame in that, man. I got a problem, I tried to fix it. I’m working on it. I saw so many bald spot signs.”

In an August 2025 interview with People, the 17-time WWE world champion said he decided to get a transplant after wrestling fans kept pointing out he had a bald spot.

“I saw their signs that said ‘The bald John Cena,’” he said. “They pushed me into going to see what my options were. I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November. I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness.”

“It completely changed the course of my life,” he added.

Earlier in June, Cena spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about his first follicular procedure and how he keeps on top of his hair care.

“I feel great and again, not perfect, but I’m taking steps at a time,” he shared. “My first transplant was a minimal procedure. I had a huge spot in the back, and they covered it up, but I didn’t exhaust my donor sites. Now I’m talking inside baseball, but this is all knowledge I got by talking to a professional. Imagine what can happen! That’s why I’m such a strong advocate. I see [a doctor] every six weeks. I get PRP treatment. I do red-light therapy, vitamins, finasteride topical, exosome topical — I’m all in.”
