Joe Biden’s prostate cancer has spread and is ‘very debilitating,’ son Hunter reveals

News RoomBy News RoomAugust 8, 20261 ViewsNo Comments

Hunter Biden has revealed his father’s prostate cancer has spread and is “very painful” for the former president.

“The cancer has spread, metastasized into his bones and further,” he told the BBC about former President Biden Friday. “It’s very painful and it’s very debilitating in many respects.”

Biden, 83, announced last May that he was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer.

“It’s really sad to watch,” Hunter Biden said. “The only thing that I’d say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good.”

Joe Biden has continued to play a public role, appearing with Maryland Democrats at their “Fight Back and Win” gala near Baltimore in late June.

Earlier that month, he appeared at the opening of the new Obama library in Chicago. He drew comments when he came to a lectern afterward and asked, “Where’s my granddaughter?”

Hunter Biden, 56, noted that his dad is “still out there.”

“He’s still doing his thing,” he said. “He so believes in this country.”

The elder Biden is still working on his memoir, “Promise Me, America,” with a planned release after the midterms.

Former first lady Jill Biden last week told interviewer Kelly Ripa that she had noticed a potential health concern while in the White House when her husband would get up to use the bathroom as many as “seven times a night.”

Jill Biden, 75, says she flagged it to White House physicians at the time and said she “thought it was addressed.”

However, after Biden left the White House in January 2025 and the issue continued, she said she urged him to seek additional medical care.

“But when it continued when we got out of the White House, I said, ‘Joe, we’ve got to go up to Jeff in Philly – something’s wrong’,” she told the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” host on Sirius XM.

Jill Biden revealed in June that the former president “will have to live with cancer for the rest of his life, which means he’s on special medicines.”

Biden’s May 2025 announcement said he was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer after experiencing urinary symptoms and that doctors had discovered a “nodule” on his prostate.

Last October, his office said he was undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment for his condition.
