WASHINGTON — Former President Joe Biden said Wednesday he’ll drop a tell-all book — immediately sparking debate that his famous autopen is back at it again.
Biden, 83, announced the new memoir, “Promise Me, America” in a video message that hinted he will work to reshape his controversial legacy in the book that’s slated to come out on Nov. 17.
“It’s about the challenges we face as a nation, about the decisions I made and why I made them,” Biden explained in the video. “Most of all, it’s about my faith in the promise of America. The promise we made to those who’ve gone before us to honor their sacrifice, the promises we made to one another.”
The tome comes on the heels of his wife Jill’s book, which dropped last month. In the book, she claimed to have thought her husband had a stroke during his notorious debate against President Trump.
Initially, the former president indicated that his book was going to drop in September, something that enraged many Democrats, who fretted it would be a distraction heading into the midterms.
Since his departure from the White House, Democrats have debated Biden’s legacy, with some arguing that his decision to vie for reelection paved the way for Trump’s return to power.
In addition to his controversial reelection bid, Biden indicated his memoir will touch on key moments of his presidency, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the aftermath of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot, the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan and his support for war-torn Ukraine.
The octogenarian will turn 84 just three days after his memoir hits bookshelves. Biden had been the oldest sitting president in US history, but Trump is set to top that by a few months if he concludes a full term.
Netizens quickly piled on Biden over the new book, most of them questioning whether he actually wrote it himself.
“Did the autopen write this too?” House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.) jabbed.
Trump famously framed a picture of the autopen in place of Biden on the wall of presidential portraits at the White House. Biden’s White House used a mechanical signature device to autograph key pieces of official business, including pardons.
“Nope. You had someone else write it for you and then you had your name put on it,” Oversight Project honcho Mike Howell jabbed.
“Are we really supposed to believe this guy wrote a whole book,” influencer Caleb Hull swiped.
“He’s running,” user Fool Nelson sniped.
After his presidency, Biden has largely kept a low-profile. Though he did announce that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which had metastasized to his bones.
“I’ve been spending a lot of time with my family. I’m dealing with a cancer diagnosis, been getting treatment, and it’s going really well,” he said. “I want to thank all those who have offered their prayers and support and well-wishes. It’s meant the world to me and to Jill.”
